I enjoyed living at Westchester for the most part. Knowing nothing is prefect I thought the experience wasn't too bad. I would move there again if I needed to live in an apartment. I moved to buy a condo or I might still be there. I will give you my pros and cons.
Pros: The office staff was pretty professional. The area was kept clean. I didn't have a problem with any infestation. I loved the size of my two bedroom two bath apartment. When I had a problem maintenance respond in a very reasonable time frame. It was very close to College Park and Greenbelt metro. I felt good walking into my building. The view was beautiful from my apartment. It overlooked Greeenbelt park. The apartments were very well built, so I didn't hear my neighbors.
Cons: Parking was a problem. I paid to park in the garage to make sure I had a space. At the time that only cost $50 more, I understand that has gone up, but still isn't as much as other places charge for reserve parking. The elevator was always breaking. That was a big problem. I was lucky to be on the 5th floor so I could walk up and down, but I felt bad for the really elderly people that lived there. I'm pretty sure maintance was coming into my apartment to relax. I came home from leaving at 5:30 am for work. When I got home at 7:30 pm you could smell food had been cooked in my apartment. When I went into the kitchen the oven was still warm. I went down to the front desk to complain. There wasn't anything the guard could do. I called the police and filled out a report. Since nothing I could tell had been stolen,(which is why I think it was maintance) the police could not do anything. I informed Karen the manager the next day. She gave so many reasons why she didn't think it was her staff. She offered to change the locks, which I didn't really see the point of since I thought it was maintenance, but they were changed just the same. I had a very nice set up with the flat TV on the wall and message chair, so I figure they just wanted to relax while on break. And I'm sure being a single woman they noticed my schedule. As I said, the total experience there was very good, so I would move there again if I needed an apartment.
