It is getting worse From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 6/13/2008 Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008   I have lived in this apartment for about 1.5 years now and do not plan to renew my lease the next time. I wanted to move into a high-rise and based on reviews, looked at Seven Springs and this apartment. I liked this apartment due to its vicinity to State park and large area. It was also a big factor to have heat, electricity and AC included in rent. Well, now its gone. They are charging for all the utilities ( Heat, AC, Water (hot/cold), Trash and Electricity. The problem is that we do not get individual meters for everything. Electricity is metered individually but AC/Heat, Water and Trash is calculated using some formula which divs up total bill for apt based on sq. footage, no of occupants and no of rooms and it has been a cause of lots of issues. Recently they installed a new AC unit which does not keep up with demand and for last few days we have been living in a partial electricity and partial AC. Today there is no AC and no Water due to power outage which happens when AC unit trips and blows out Pepco box. It is going on for last 5 days forcing people to live in a sauna!. I measured and found that on Sunday night my apt temp was 93F with AC on. The AC was blowing air at 84F as it was working partially. You certanily expect AC to work when you are paying for it and you are going through the worst days of summer. I have not found many issues with parking but that may be bcoz I come home early. I have heard about car break-ins and theft but have not experienced anything myself. I have not seen any bugs (live on 17th floor) and though there are few students, I have not heard much noice/commotion. Prev. mgmt was good but they have been moved to new communities and new mgmt has no touch with tenants. Maintenance staff is good but they can do only so much. I feel bad looking at this nice community getting bad ratings due to poor management.
