You couldn't get help from the View if you were on fire. The massive amounts of "security" are not there for your protection or to assist you, they are there to protect the building. This became all to clear when my bike was stolen out of there 'secure' facility. Their answer' 'that sucks' - very professional. They had a tape of the theft but had done nothing to stop the robbery because the perpetrator did not harm the View's property, unbelievable. I asked if this was the same policy they had for my house and they said yes. I spent another 400$ on a bike and kept this one locked in my room. But no, the view can't have that!! first they banned bikes from coming through their front doors or in from the garage you can only use the rear entrance, then they banned bikes from the apartments all together. They actually came to my DOOR and told me they would forcibly remove my bike next time i brought it up!! How does this work'' The staff is rude and unhelpful, seriously, the university sees me as more of a person then the staff, to them you really are only a number. My roommates (who i was placed with) ruined the carpet during a party (while i was not there) but i lost my security deposit anyway. They also smoked heavily when they said on the application that they didn't, the View's policy is 'sucks for you, but try to get them to quit cause if it smells like smoke on the carpet or couch then you'll have to pay to have them replaced.' On a sidenote-the windows don't open, it is strange and though it sounds like a small thing, it can really get to you. Live with friends you can trust here or find somewhere else, the location is not worth the hassle or the $$$.
