My boyfriend, his sister, and I moved into a two bedroom apartment in January of 2007 and we love it! You're allowed to paint the walls, nail things up, etc just as long as you repaint back to white when you're planning on moving out. Our air conditioner wasn't at the beginning of the summer, but we called the office and they sent a repair man the next day. Now it works great!
Everytime I go to the office to pick up a package or request a temporary parking permit whoever is there ALWAYS asks me how the apartment is doing and if we need any help.
The community does feel very safe since it's gated. The gate even has an opening in the back (with a keypad of course) that opens onto a short wooded path to a park on Rhode Island Avenue. I always feel especially safe knowing the right next door is a state trooper headquarters.
Sure, sometimes you can hear police sirens and fire trucks going down 495 (which is really close) but other than that-- I haven't had any problems with annoying sounds.
So, personally I think it's great. Then again, I'm a college student and people tend to think we don't mind living in filth.

Long before their lease is up, I'm sure they'll wish they had made a better choice. But, then again, they are college kids.

I agree. I lived in Wynfield for 4 years. I was excited to move in because it was new, but as many of the writers have said, things have changed and not for the better. I am curious about the mold in the apartments. I had mold and I know my breathing and sinuses were affected.
