I Really Wouldn't if I were You!

My wife and I moved here from out-of-state and we were initially impressed with the dilligence to get our paperwork filed quickly and we were deceived greatly by the on-line views of the complex. (Our first mistake). We were allowed only to view the apartment the first day we arrived and were told that we couldn't move in for 1 week while the place was still being prepared, so we stayed in a Motel studio for the entire week with expectation that it would be well worth the wait only to find at the time of our move-in that everything was exactly the same as the first day we visited (the place had been virtually untouched). The wooden platform surrounding the kitchen counter had what looked like piaper soiled into the paint. There were rotten potatoes in our cabinets and other goods left from the previous tenant. The kithchen and bathroow was unclean. My wife and I had to clean before feeling somewhat comfortable so we wasted 1 week paying for unnecessary motel accomodations to move into a place that we could have at least moved into sooner under the circumstances and saved our money.

We couldn't take a bath the day we moved in because the shower head was missing and needed to be repaired (After a week of being prohibited from move-in). We had to place a sheet over on of the bedroom windows for 3 weeks waiting for maintenance to respond, finally I went to the office and requested the blinds and put them up myself. One eye on the stove hasn't worked since we've been here, you have to shake and move it for it to work and even then it won't stay hot. We placed a request to have our central heat repaired because it blows cool air out, one of the maintenance men confirmed it was a problem and it would be repaired. (That was a month ago) and it still isn't fixed. In what I suppose was their modest effort to make good on a bad situation they let us borrow a 8" x 10" space heater to heat a 2/1 bath unit. :-) Forget about calling, more than half the time no one will answer the phone but when you go to the office they are more than adequately staffed to pickup a phone. I voiced all my concerns for the unprofessional manner for which they have treated us since our arrival and received an apology but with a very blunt and non-caring demeanor. We have given up fighting trying to get co-operation out of them and are extremely disappointed that we ever set foot here. For those that are happy living here, I wish them all the best but God forbid they ever really need any type of assistance from the staff.

I have read the post from another tenant and my wife and I laughed because it was an identical mimic of our experience. Then we see these other positive responses from others and scratch our heads wondering where in the heck do they stay, we'd certainly love to be there.

The only conclusion I can derive is that the complex is divided into 2 apparent sections. You can distinguish them by the color. The one's closest to the office are grey the one's we rent are somewhat of a beige color. So if you decide to move here despite the warning, now you know the units I am making reference to so you can make a very educated decision.

Our next move will definitely be into a home and we wouldn't dare recommend this complex to anyone we know. If you decide to move here, you've been forewarned of the possibilities. GOOD LUCK!
