Dont Do it!--5 years here--ready to move!!

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2009

I have lived here for 5 years now and I have watched this apartment complex go straight to the dumps. This used to be such a nice complex, and great place to live but now it seems the only requirement to live here is a pulse, and bad A$$ kids.

Management issues: I have seen the Management go from good to bad to worse..
Leah, always seems to be busy and is never available, and Dean is just a complete idiot and I would rather not deal with him. The Management team prior to this one was just as bad, if not worse. I feel like Leah is only 'in it' for herself and has no desire to be of any help to anyone. When I have had the privledge of speaking to her, she was condesending, curt and had a blatant "I dont want to be bothered with this" attitude. Dean is also very condesending, and apparently does not particularly care for the residents that receive any type of funding. Yes, I would say I am calling him prejudice--not racist, prejudice, and with that attitude, I cant understand why he chose this line of work. The Management investigates what issues and which residents it chooses to investigate--and seems to ignore the bigger problems of the tenants (bad kids, throwing trash outside of the dumpster, violation of income guidelines, etc) I am not saying the rental office needs to babysit, what I am saying is that they need to address issues with the primary renter of the unit of which said child(ren) live(s))--management also does not make other tenants aware of crime on other tenants, (robbery, muggings, car theft or breaking into) or even acknowledge that there is a problem with anything in this neighborhood.

Maintenance issues: I had water damage on my ceiling that was not fixed cosmetically for 2 years, and when it was finally fixed, their was paint all over my entertainment center. I have a leaky tub faucet which mildews inside of the tub, a maintenance issue where water was left from one end of the counter to the other (that ruined important school papers)...the office staff is a JOKE! Maintenance is overall friendly most of the time, sometimes unjustifiably nasty to some of the nicer kids, but doesn't repair stuff neatly and properly and not always prompt. I think they just don't want to spend the money and effort on doing it right and hope that people will be satisfied with sub-par work.

Living conditions: The buildings are in need of repair, the grounds are kept nice enough aside from trash left by some of the neighborhood kids (some nice, polite, well behaved, others mean, rude and just plain bad)..there used to be a lot of older teenagers on the property that did not reside there and nothing was ever done with that. We did have security, that patrolled at night but I guess they didn't want to pay for that any longer because they soon disappeared. Parking after 6pm does not exist, except 3 or more buildings away, I DON'T feel safe there late at night coming in alone, and luckily I don't do it that often, I hear every step that my neighbor takes and sometimes have to bang on the ceiling to get them to quiet down, and the apartments are somewhat pricy for the size and the abuse from the Management staff, and it is really time for me to move. I dispise disrespect of any kind, and I feel that the Management is the main reason why I am leaving.
