I Rented in the complex for only one year, and I thank God for that. Our neighbors were fine and I felt safe, but the maintenance and cleanliness of the entire building in which my apartment was loctated was appalling. The skylight outside of our third floor apartment was boarded over and was a leaky, moldy disaster when we moved in, and when we moved out, it was still not repaired, despite numerous calls to management. Every single time it rained, the carpet in the hallway would reek and become a soppy mess; it smelled just like cat urine. The BIGGEST problem we had was the uncontrollable, terrible infestation of cockroaches. We moved in in early March, and by the time the spring weather set in, the pests started to show up in droves. We had our apartment "sprayed" for roaches at least 6 times, and management claimed to have tried to deal with it as an entire building problem to have all residents cooperate and get their apartment ready for extermination, but I don't believe it ever occurred, due to one or two residents not cooperating, and due to management's absolute lack of concern. The roaches were absolutely everywhere, and my roomate and I even saved their corpses and brought them to the management office to show the then-property manager. A disgusting, outdated place that really needs to be razed to the ground and rebuilt to make it a place that is habitable.
