I did not get the model when I moved in!

Just with every apartment, there is shotty work at Columbia landing. My "renovated" apartment has cracked kitchen tiles, counters that are peeling away, oven vents that do not vent, fire alarms that sound when toast is made, bathroom cabinets with a huge gap between the wall and where the cabinet ends, rusty/rotting molding/drywall that has been painted over and dirty vents.
When I moved in I was excited after seeing the model apartment but what I got instead was not the model. My dishwasher was not connected properly and with first use, made a puddle of water under the sink and on the floor. The stove was also not connected right and leaked gas when I cooked to the point of naseau. The bathroom tub had been resealed and when I moved in, I was not to enter for another 24 hours, unfortunately the toliet was also in there and I had to endure the fumes to pee. The outside air conditioning/ heating room had mice which could be seen by the inside vent, entertaining for my cats but not for me. It also leaked water onto the pavement when it was used.Needless to stay my excitement faded after the first twenty-four hours.
It can be loud here. I can understand the thin walls and hearing my neighbors walk, shower and watch T.V. ets. What I can not understand is the loud cultural music early in the moring while residents are up cleaning/fixing their cars and blasting throughout the day/night.I can not understand why....renters throw their cigarettes, tobacco chew, bottles and garbage all over my outside patio/grounds along with piles of it outside the dumpster instead of in the dumpster.
There also seems to be a lot of flyers posted and put on doors about entering the apartment for inspections and spraying for bugs. Although it is great that they are trying to be proactive-it is excessive.
Recently we had a renovation of the pipes....which meant construction. My hallway, bathroom and bedroom ceiling were totally to partially removed. My property was touched without my consent. I had to move out of bedroom secondary to the renovation. Besides drywall dust, there are stains on my carpet, wall and ceiling damage. The office staff have been friendly but during this renovation, they have not been promopt to address my concerns/issues.
So, overall the apartment is fair, the price is nice if you do not have pets and have to pay $35 for each and the trails around the apartment do make it nice. It is also right around the corner from the shopping centers and not far from the mall. Just make sure you take the above in consideration, get an apartment facing away from the busy Tamar drive and an apartment on the second/third floor so you do not have to hear all the noises from the upstairs dwellers. Also so you do not have to enjoy their trash while you sit outside on your patio. I have lived here for two years but plan to move out within the year.
