As good as it gets

I have lived here since 2005. I have posted before and I will admit, when I first moved, there were many issues, I was upset and on the verge of moving. However, those issues have since been resolved. Living here is not perfect, you won't find perfection anywhere. After the residential uproar, they have listened and corrected many of the residents' complaints and I think we should give them a second chance.

I have a 2BR, 2BA apartment. The unit is a good size. The walls are thin, so my only noise complaint is my loud talking neighbor who lives next door, but she's tolerable. I do have a neighbor who plays his acoustic guitar and sings in the evening. You can barely hear him, he's got a good voice and is not loud, so unless you are Scrooge and you see that as noise pullution, I suggest you live in a cave. I have not had any issues concerning the fuctioning of appliances. Any maintanance issues I have within my unit, are addressed in a timely manner after a request is placed. The landscape is well taken care of. Car break-ins occur, but rarely. As with any area, it is your repsonibility to remove all valuables from your cars to not be targeted. The property does have Howard County Police patrol through the garages and surrounding areas on the daily to try to lessen these occurrances.

The negatives of the property: The leasing office. Pure incompetence at its best. I blame that to improper training, no office SOP, age, lack of education and lack of customer service experience. So if you want something done, do it yourself, or know who to call (over their heads). The pool has now become an issue because residents only get passes for those who reiside on the property. Any additional passes must be purchased. Residents are not allocated a certain number of free guest passes for the month. So if you have kiddies stopping by, be willing to shell out some $. There IS a MAJOR ant problem. Especially if you live on the first floor. I swear I had a whole mariachi band of those buggers one day. Luckily I was prepared and became the terminator to rid myself. So if your goal in life is not to breed ants I would suggest, you yeep your apartment VERY, clean, spray, BLEACH, and strategically place those lovely ant traps to rid yourself of the nuisance. Additionally don't be surpised if a pipe breaks (bewteen the walls). That has happened to me. Just act fast or else you will have a rainforest in your living room.

The property is updated, well- maintained, clean, fairly safe, with amenities such as a pool, media room & work-out center. The units are large and the rooms are not sardine cans. Here you have in unit washer & dryers... that work! And the best part, the closets.... OMG closets so big they make you want to go shopping!!

It's not Club Med..... but for what I can afford (without being Anna Nicole), it's close, and it's where I call home (and I'm very particular!). So if you expect to live in a fantasy; surrounded by true luxury and perfection, you might want to BUY. Call Robin Leach, I'm sure he could give you a suggestion or two. But if you choose to RENT and want to live in reality with the rest of us, very busy, corporate-enslaved, white collar workers, who want: a well-kept, clean, safe, decent sized, updated, shee-shee foo-foo property, so that you can brag to your friends about it's fabulousness.... Honey, this is as good as it gets.
