I am a young professional looking for a new apartment. After visiting the CTC this week I had a seemingly good impression of the property, however after reading current reviews I am beginning to thing otherwise. Overall I am looking for the opinions (good and bad) of current residents...and no leasing office agents please! Overall I will have a frequent visitor. Also the leasing agents quoted utilities to run at $80-$120 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment would that be correct or follow the lines of their bs as I have been reading. Any information would be very helpful!!

I am into my 4th year lease here at CTC and I loved it here when i first moved in. In the first year the management changed and things started to go downhill. However, it usually was pretty tolerable until this past year. With the recent occurences with parking and utilities, I regret having renewed my lease here and will never renew so long as the current management continues. They changed the utility provider without telling residents until 3 months after the fact. Our bills are three months behind as a result. During the winter months when gas is consumed about 45% more expect gas unit rates to increase 200-300% from what you pay during the summer months (and no, I'm not exaggerating). It's been a nightmare getting my incorrect bills corrected and getting the office staff to follow through promptly and thorougly on my issues. CTC has not been able to communicate a reasonable explanation to the residents on the utility issues. They will explain the different problems people are having, how the bills are calculated, etc. but they have never addressed why the unit rate for gas increased dramatically when the switch occurred.

Additionally, I've had my car keyed in the parking deck as have a few others and there's no security system in place in the garages to help deter this activity.

I just thoroughly caution everyone to beware when entering a lease here. All you have to do is to look at the history of complaints on this site. A year ago, the complaints were few and far between and the approval rating was in the 60's. The past couple months, the complaints have soared and the approval rating is now a 33%. That should speak heavily that there is something going on here and it's not just a random person venting on his/her personal issues that don't reflect the community at large. They're serious problems!

Prospective Renter-
I have lived here for 8 months. And I will say, the apartments itself are beautiful! They have since changed meters and water pumps, so I will be optimistic to say that they quoted you appropriately as far as what to expect to pay for utilities. However, should our utility issue continue I would take that total and double it. They have been charging tenants absurd rates and rectifying it by crediting our accounts by about $4-7. Yes, that does read as $4-7, as in the typical rate of a McD???s meal! As far as having guests, good luck with that! They do not issue our permanent guest parking tags, so your guest will have to undergo the inconvenience of stopping by the office at every visit. So, yes Big Brother is monitoring your every visitor. However, should the leasing office be closed, which if you paid close attention to the hours, if you are home, they are closed. You will not be able to get a parking tag AT ALL. My guests have been booted numerous times because of this. The biggest hassle is the fact that they close at 6pm on a Friday and don't open until about 11a on Sat. So I would suggest that if you plan to live here, you have your psychic on call so that you can anticipate every "pop in" visitor... including your mother! The parking situation and the utility situation are the two biggest reasons to look at this property and look away. Well, not just look, but run away. I mean the staff is pretty clueless (and I say that to be nice because incompetent is the word that truly describes them). But all in all, you make the choice. But its incredibly frustrating living here and I've been here for less than a year. Most of the people that reside here are on a count down to when their lease is up.... not a good sign!

I have been here for 5 years and when my lease is up I'm moving the hell out! They are the worst. You can't sleep at night wondering if your guest is going to be booted when you wake up. They boot so many guests it's ridiculous. My neighbor just moved out because his girlfriend was booted twice. They thumb their noses at you when you complain. The utility bills now are absolutely outrageous and they give you a bunch of BS when you inquire, or they say they'll call you back and never do. Don't do it, don't do it!!! Move somewhere else, it's not worth the headache. Anyone who says otherwise is just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. You'll regret it!

Why would you park in someone's spot and not expect to get booted? If someone is inmy spot I want their car towed out of the way so I can park.
