Run Away, RUN AWAY!

Since we have moved in:
-> witnessed the body of suicide by hanging
-> police show up about public disturbance and perps running from police
We stuck it out for 5 1/2 months. Can't do it anymore! When we moved in, there weren't any screens in the kitchen windows. I filed a work order and 5 months later still don't have screens. The electrical outlets are shot. We have to tape our plugs into the outlets. The walls are so thin we can hear our neighbors cough. Oh, one word, ANTS!!! We were told such good things about Howard County and Columbia, planned community, etc. I can't say what the rest of Columbia is like, but Grand Pointe Apts feel like a chunk of transplanted Baltimore. When we sat down to sign our lease, I was reading over the agreement and there weren't any utilities included. The previous leasing agent we toured with had said that electricity & heat were included. The new guy pleaded "upper management changes, can't do anything about it". The only reason we still signed was b/c this was the only affordable 3 bedroom in Columbia. Now we're even charged for water, sewer and TRASH PICK-UP! No, not our own little green garbage can, the stupid dumpster in the parking lot!! $15 BUCKS A MONTH! I'd rather haul it down the hill myself and dump it in the rental office. The balconies are unsafe, bars are too wide, I can't even let my kids out there. Our master bathroom smells like dry rot. The floor around the toilet & shower is sagging. Every time I get into the shower or sit down on the toilet, I pray that the floor doesn't give way. And if it has to, I pray my neighbors aren't home! Overall, I think Columbia would be better off if the whole place was banished back to Baltimore from whence it came!
