I'm not sure where the heck all the other reviewers live, but I've never had any problems living in the high rise at Grand Pointe. It is one of the cheapest complexes in Columbia, so if you move in expecting a luxury apartment, of course you are going to be disappointed. That being said, the apartments are of good size. I hardly ever hear any of my neighbors. There is a very diverse crowd of people living here. I've seen young couples, families, senior citizens, and college students of all different races. The leasing office tries to have little parties for the residents every once in a while, which gives you a nice opportunity to meet other people in the building. I have never felt unsafe here. Most of the parking lots are well lit and there are security people on duty at night who sit down in the lobby. My small maintenance issues have been fixed promptly. We were having trouble with a drippy faucet, and they replaced it with a brand new one the very next day. People seem to be greatly exaggerating the bug issue. There are *some* bugs here, but the management is aware of the problem and they have exterminators come. I've never had any bedbugs. My only complaint about Grand Pointe is that they go outside of BGE for gas service, so it is a little more expensive than I'd like. But overall, this has been a nice place to live.

Yea I must agree the high rise is ok but the other buildings are a dump and as for the Gas service, its High because they they bill you based on the averge use in that building. Ista is the gas service company they are supposed to come check the meters, but in the event they cant, they will bill you based on the buildings advarge, the only thing about that is that Ista is located in Flordia so they will never make it down to check your meters so dont count on it going down anytime soon.

Yeah, I can imagine the High Rise might be nice. But speaking as a former resident of the Garden Houses, I can assure you that there are bugs. And there definitely are bed bugs.
I've never had a problem with the other residents of the building. I will say that at a certain time of the night you will find 'suspicious' looking characters lurking about now and then. But it's no Baltimore Project.
But here's a tip on the building managers integrity: The less residents that are in the building is the more your heat/gas bill will go up. It will go up exponentially and you will know this when you see your bill. And here's why: when the residents move out, that apartments' heating system will be mysteriously set to the highest temperature. And it will not be able to be lowered from within that apartments' unit.
Things that make you go hmmm:\

The person claiming to live in the High Rise is lying. I bet it was written by a staff in the office. This place is a dump. Do not move your family here. You will regret it. This place is over priced. There are bed bugs in these buildings. This building is bug infested.
