I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I moved in thinking that it would be a nice quiet apartment complex. It's definitely not a cheap place to live, but everyone knows that Columbia is expensive in general. I moved into a one bedroom apartment, and it is TINY. I knew that coming in, but I didn't realize how small it really is until I started unpacking. There definitely isn't a lot of closet space, so half my stuff is just laying around in the living room. Not only is it small, but the noise level is just ridiculous. The walls are paper thin. I can hear a man from the building next to us snoring at night. This isn't a neighbor in the same building. I'm talking about the building NEXT to ours. That's not the worst part. The neighbors upstairs walk around 24/7. It's bad enough they walk around nonstop during the day, but they are up until about 2am everyday. All you hear is *SQUEEK SQUEEK* while you are trying to sleep.
Here is the best part about this place: People who like to vandalize your property, and then threaten you. For the first few months, everything was fine when I moved in. I don't know anyone living in my building, so I never talked to anyone. A few months after I moved in, I noticed that I had a huge scratch on the hood of my car. It was clearly a scratch made by a key/nail. My boyfriend, who lives with me noticed that he had several scratches on his car, as well as spit on the windshield. We went and reported it to the manager, and were told that they couldn't do anything about it. A little while passed after that, and again, more scratches appeared on my boyfriend's car. We attempted to talk to the manager, and again were told it wasn't their problem and that we should go talk to the police. We realized it was pointless talking to them, as we didn't know who would even want to do that to our cars, as we knew no one at the apartment complex, so the chance in catching them would be slim to none. The last event occured recently, where my boyfriend realized that the valve stem in one of his tires had been slashed. A few days prior to that, one of the tenants who happens to live in our building came up to me and accused me of vandalizing his car. This was someone who I had never spoken to before, and had barely even seen the whole time I had been living there. At this point in time, I started feeling very unsafe about living here. I was threatened by someone I didn't even know, my car was a target, and no one even seemed to give a damn. I had no idea WHY anyone would even accuse me of doing the same thing that was done to my car. After speaking with the manager for the third and final time, my boyfriend and I were basically told that we are on our own. This shows us that they could care less about the safety of their tenants. You are on your own if anything goes wrong, as it's "none of their business" apparently. So in summary, if you like a lot of noise, people who vandalize your property, personal threats from individuals you don't even know, and management that looks down at you, then this is definitely the place for you. Personally, I wouldn't recomment this place to anyone. I know I can't wait until my lease expires and I get out of here!!!
