Wow! I can't get over some of these reviews. I presume that life was different at Reflections prior to Summer 2007.

Reality Check--If you have been pampered all of your life, have lived in the lap of luxury, have been taken care of by Mommy and Daddy with a great house, everything modern & updated as soon as you wanted it...then you don't need to live here OR ANY OTHER APARTMENT COMPLEX. Go borrow some more of Mommy and Daddy's money...or if you're not a young spoiled one then get to saving some money and GO BUY A HOUSE OR CONDO!

Now, if you are down to earth and understand that your every little home desire will not be attended to at an apartment complex, this place is great. The community is wonderful, very pet friendly, not a lot of children but those that are here seem well-adjusted and non-criminal, beautiful grounds, great floorplans, professional and attentive staff, and the list goes on.

I've lived in apartments for years (not in Columbia) and this is the nicest by far. Yes, the most expensive...but not unreasonable for the area.

The kitchens are in need of an update...but I would imagine that's coming soon. Since I don't own it and I never will, I go for functionality and my stove, fridge, and d/w all work well.

As for the x-tenant who complained about the electric bill...I wasn't aware that Reflections was co-owner of BG&E. If I missed your point and you're complaining about insulation...don't even try it--I have neighbors on both sides and haven't heard a peep. You can't have that without great insulation and solid construction. Furthermore, I have more square footage in my apartment than I did in my SFH, and my electric bill is 1/2 of my house's.

There are some absolutely crazy posts on this site--but I'm telling you--if you're looking for an apartment and understand that apartments deal with masses...and cannot hang your pictures for you nor can they allow you to break rules just 'cause you're so special...this is the perfect apartment community. Ample parking, NO DRUG DEALERS hanging out at night, QUIET QUIET QUIET, great floor plans, and great staff. The money is what it is--and you won't find anything better in Columbia.

Another post from the management, wow it appears as though you are making alot of invalid general statements. Since when is it NOT important to get what you pay for? I was a renter there and I have my BGE bills that went sky high not soley because of the rate hike but for additional reasons such as yes poor windows that don't insulate and doors- why is this? BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO OLD. Now onto your comment about BGE, just like most people no one really concerned themselves about their bill until it went to a financial burden situation, common sense will you tell that at that time a little extra in the bill didn't hurt, NOW insulation is VERY IMPORTANT, IT DIRECTLY AFFECTS OUR BILLS-HELLO? I have proof anyone interested in reality of these issues is welcome to email me I have copies of my bills. Now onto the points about spoiled people living at the reflections? What does that have to do with anything and how would you I mean YOU personally know this type of information? FYI Columbia is full of professional people making Howard County one of the richest counties in Maryland 2nd to Montgomery, I seriously doubt there are any spoiled children at the reflections. The kitchens are in need? TRY the bathroom too....oh thats right they painted the outside of the complex that fixed everything, you go for functionality? HUH what? NO let me reiterate EVERYONE goes for what is appealing and has the most for the money they spend, unless your giving discounts I dont think going for functionality makes any sense when apartment shopping. I really really really get pissed off when someone tries to assert I would lie about my experiences at the reflections or attempt to invalidate them, my comments can stand on their own merits and cannot be disproved. And lastly it appears as though someone who is using different ID's to post their point here are the same person, especially the identical points about spoiled children and go buy a house routine, I guess I will contact this website and and get them to isolate the IP addresses so this nonsense can be stopped.

First, I'm not from management. Not sure how I can prove that to you, but quite honestly it's not my responsibility to prove it, so you'll just have to take my word. Second, I was not for a moment doubting that your electric bill was high. I'm simply doubting that it's due to insulation. I doubt this because a) my electric bill is averaging $110/month...with months of A/C and now a month with heat. I use my fireplace to supplement the heat and I keep my thermostat set at 68 degrees. During the summer months, I kept my thermostat at 72 degrees. Again, my point on the insulation is that if it sucked, I would hear my neighbors. I don't hear my neighbors even though they have two "yappy" dogs and kids. As for the windows and doors, yes, they're older. However, they're still double-hung windows and strong doors with good weather stripping. I don't need things to be the latest and greatest...I purchase those things for my home that I pay a mortgage on and can call MINE. Third...you wrote: Now onto the points about spoiled people living at the reflections? What does that have to do with anything and how would you I mean YOU personally know this type of information? FYI Columbia is full of professional people making Howard County one of the richest counties in Maryland 2nd to Montgomery, I seriously doubt there are any spoiled children at the reflections. So you think that only low income people live in apartments? We moved here due to changes in employment. We wanted to rent for a couple of years so as to not invest in a house without ensuring we liked the area. Our household income is well over 100K (which is well over the Howard Co. average of 82K/year). I believe that Reflections has an income requirement that's three or four times monthly rent. At $1600 per month, I don't think the "poor" people are living here. I do believe that with Howard County being "the richest county in MD" there are likely MANY sheltered and spoiled Howard Countyians around. Finally, as for the multiple IDs...might be happening, but it's not me. This is officially my SECOND post on this web site. You'll need to find another way to validate that as I utilized my work computer for Post #1 and my home computer for Post #2. Do you think it's possible that there are multiple posts of the same opinion because more than one person shares the same opinion? Naaaahhhh, that's just crazy. Oh, almost forgot--your sarcastic reference to the summer painting project. So you think it's okay to pay $1600/month and have your building look like crap, but it's not okay to have your bathroom look like crap? What kind of sense does that make? Do you think it was important for them to replace all the wood that had wrotted? Naahhhh, who needs solid wood siding when they can have a new toilet? Or maybe you think that they should just do EVERYTHING to update EVERYTHING all at once...'cause that would keep the prices down for sure!!! I hope they don't update anything else 'cause I don't want to pay MORE RENT for something I don't own!!!!!! You won't get anything UPDATED for free! When they update, they'll raise the prices. Why wouldn't they? What business wouldn't charge you more for a brand new kitchen? Or a brand new bathroom?

I have one question for mdrenter2007 where do you live in the apartment complex? Because after reading the horrible reviews on this website, I knew everyone can't be lying or not telling the truth to put it nicely! So I drove thru at night time and sure enough there where people hanging out in front of the buildings and I saw trash piled up at the dumpsters. SO maybe you lucked up and don't see what other tenants there see, but try walking around your community at night, there's defintely something illegal going on at Reflections and for the price to rent there, I don't think so!
