I lived in Tamar Meadow for one year. I am moving out after the lease expires because this was the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The biggest problem is that Tamar advertises itself as a nice, middle-class community but in reality this is an overpriced apartment complex full of people who have created an urban setting.

(Their nicely manicured lawns and pools fooled me when I decided to live at Tamar; don't let it fool you. For example, the pool is allowed to turn green by the autumn, after the peak leasing season ends)

Crime is a problem, as there have been muggings in the parking lot and there have been car break-ins. In the summer, I get teenage solicitors knocking on my door 1-2 times per week. The neighbors are loud, which you can hear through the thin walls. My immediate neighbors like to scream, as do kids at the pool that I constantly hear throughout the courtyard. The balconies are worthless -- there are SO many cigarette smokers that I can never go outside or open my windows without smelling the stench of cigarettes. Stay away from Tamar Meadow.

Yes Yes and Yes....sigh...this is Columbia's dirty little secret, didn't you know? Apparently not. Columbia, Md looks so beautiful with it's nicely manicured lawns and it almost looks like a postcard with joggers jogging gleefully on the sidewalks with their little tikes in tow or how about the old lady who loves to birdwatch...oh yeah, it's such a "great" and "peaceful" place to live...according to the POSTCARD...but look under the surface before renting an apartment because if you do, you'll notice the muggings, rapings, murders, and gang banging activity. And yes, you're right about the filthy disgusting smokers who claim it's their "right" to smoke...well, it's my friggin right to clean, fresh air...-------s~
