If you're looking to live here, keep looking

We moved here from out-of-state and thought we were getting quite a deal with the size of the townhouse and the gas included. However, in retrospect I would never have moved in here knowing what I know now.
Maintenance is non-existant. They told us we would get new counters by the time we moved in and what they did was paint them. Now, 8 months later, the paint is all wiped up and ugly stains remain. The kitchen cabinets are HORRIBLE to say the least!!! They must be as old as the the building itself, if they even got them new back then. Things are falling apart, falling down and we have electrical problems. All of which are ignored when reported. I now fax all my requests from work and they are still ignored.
Six times now, we have reported problems with our front door lock and every time it gets fixed (after many calls to the office) it's only rigged to work for a short time.
There was a towel bar that was duck taped to the wall and painted over, light switches pop behind the plate and then don't work, etc, etc, etc.
My husband and I both work and there are teenagers outside being very loud until late at night. People getting home from the bars at 2:30am and blasting their horns and screaming. There are small children who jump out in front of your car while you're driving, and give you the dirty look. There are groups of teenagers who will not move out of your way, but rather give you the look like they want to cut your throat. My daughter left the house three times by herself when we moved in and all 3 times was approached and asked if she had a problem with the girl who just walked out of her house. She wanted to fight and my daughter didn't know her from anyone.
If anyplace in Columbia is ghetto-like, it's Hannibal Grove.
We did not find a bargain here. We've already been told that the rent will go up substantially when our lease is out in a few months. And I would rather put my things in storage and go from my 5 BR to a 3BR than to live here any longer than I need to.
Parking is horrible. It's fend for yourself to find a spot. You'd think that with the townhouses at least that they'd assign one or two spots to each house.
As you see by the number of people who've rated this complex, they are not happy here. Find someplace else to live.
