I lived here for one LONG year. Gas leaks, mice, loud rude kids yelling vulgar language in the middle of the road and a washing machine that leaked everywhere. There are teenagers and adults who think they're teenagers standing around outside of the doors where you enter the complex. I have dealt with ------- and ----- at the leasing office. ------- was always very nice and helpful. You do not want to live here. There are so many choices in Columbia, why would anyone pay to live at this place'

I disagree with the negative comments about this community. My place is nice both on the inside and outside. The upgrades they are putting in are top notch and on par with what is being put in new homes. I have dealt with BGE, and they don't write letters to apt. complexes based on requests of the tenants. I have also dealt with the management office at this complex and they are both fair and thorough. If ever I had a request that required review, they handled it professionally and asked for proper documentation so that my request was in writing both for my records and for their own. A washing machine that leaks suds sounds to me like it is a "user error" but by no means makes this place a bad place to live. Sounds like people are just plain hating and need to get a life! I love my apartment at The Berkshires of Columbia and it is a great deal for Columbia

In response to "happyatberkshires", The managment did take responsibity for the leak due to the LETTER BGE WROTE. Yes they do write letters documenting service. As far as the washer, they finally realized it was a clog in the connection that was causing my leaks. They did take care of the problems and I am happy they did. They are making wonderful upgrades. I hope things change for the better around here.

I do agree with both to a certain point...the maintenance here feel as though they know everything...we had a leak...the same leak that they came to fix not once, but at least 3 times...now, i am no rocket scientist, but i do know that if you have to be called in for the same problem over and over then there is something deeper than you want to realize, so call in a professional...i ended up writing a letter to the management company suggesting that should i call in a plumber to fix my leaking problem that i will have the bill forwarded to the office...they had a plumber come in and he found the problem that the maintenance at Berkshires failed or did not want to see...it seems like all they want to do is bump apartments when tenants move out...however, when i go into the office and speak with the office team, they have always been courteous and friendly. The issue with the kids hanging out, kids will be kids and that has to do with the parents, not the office staff. As far as the upgrades i agree with both...the apartments are nice, the townhomes however, need to be demolished and rebuilt.

This to Happy at berkshires, I hope you been living there long enough to really know these people. First of all I don't believe these people and myself got any reason to be hating on them. Hating for what? I need to ask myself??? There are things that are going on and being done to people that you don't even know about so for you to say something like that is straight uncalled for. I don't know whether your blind to the fact but there are things going on and you need to open your eyes to see it before you be a victim next!!! now as far as the staff, there is only peson I know of that is very considerate and nice and he is the young gentleman. As far as the maintenance guys they seemed nice to me too but they are undercover crooks. The assistant manager and manager are fake soooooooooooo I wouldn't have a problem to speak upon these people if they treated me and my family good while living there but ooops I don't cause I am one of the victims that was going through a issue with them. You need to know that if people take the time out from their busy lives to input this data believe me boo I don't think these people is just HATING they really suffered a BAD experience while living there and I can respect that cause I did too.
