I lived there in 2003 and nothing has changed except the landscaping. The rental office staff supervisor ------ is nasty as ever! When I lived there, the mold problem was such an issue that my son had a mushroom grow in his room! Also the person that lived in the apartment before me posted a comment on this site and guess what! Her problems where the same as mine, so things never change here, this place is a disaster waiting to happen. Columbia probably had 4 murders last year and 2 where in this neighborhood, one in the complex and one directly across the street at 7 Eleven (done by people who lived in this complex)! So run away from this place do not rent here! The Berkshires that is funny! Hannibal Grove will never change.

Someone really needs to look into the mold issue because I bet there is so many people that experience this problem and nothing is ever done. They come in and put Killz on it and then the next person moves in. That never solves the problem. Management has to be the ones posting on here with positive comments because I can't imagine anyone that has ever lived her posting positive comments.

I completely agree with you, the best thing that I have done is get out after my lease was up. My apartment actually did have a mold problem too but i forgot to address it in my previous post. Our basement had a flood coming from underneath the carpet, but we didn't know of it until it got really bad, then mold started forming in closests and corners. I also lived in the complex during the murders, and fortunately for berkshires they caught the murderer. However, if you look on the police websites and look for residents of where convicted fellons live, you will be surprised at how many live near there. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the management posts 5 new comments on how great the complex is to get rid of the bad reviews.

i disagree with the above posts about the neighborhood. crime happens everywhere and it has no name. i feel everyone is responsible for their well being and i feel good that they check the criminal background before allowing you to move to the complex. columbia in general is a nice environment wherever you live. the berkshires is a very well kept property and they offer a nice floorplan. drive around the neighborhood and you will see that for yourself.

Crime in everywhere that's true but it shouldn't be happening right underneath your nose. And if it is a crime issue they should of placed good glass doors with LOCKS on it for the front entrance instead of a big stupid door that someone can walk right behind you and close the mother**ker back. All these people care about is the SHOW of the apartment and not the safety of their tenants. All that F**in money they get from everybody per month with the high security deposits (and I don't know why there are security deposits when they don't try to protect anybody)we all should be somewhat safe when entering our homes. Thats' all yall talk about is the floor plans, the look, the upgrades but it is things way more important that you should be worried about..excuse the profanity but these people SUCK!
