I totally agree. Me and my fiance are not going to renew our lease here. When moving in 2005, things seemed to be ok. However, with the first winter storm, they never put salt down on the sidewalks. Luckily, it was sunny outside the next day so the ice melted but ended up refreezing later that night. Maintenance is also another issue. They are horrible. We have had financial crisis and were at the verge of being evicted and were told we could make payment arrangements. While standing in line waiting to pay the rent in full, the property manager(New)barges into our apartment to tell my fiance that rent was due. There used to be some off the wall policy where they would check to see if you were in line paying your rent before proceeding with eviction. We have also had issues with the sorry a** heating and air conditioning system here. During the winter, the heating system, does not heat the house so your living room will stay hot but the main room(master and 2nd bedrooms) will never heated. We were told my the maintenance man who has a very lackadaisical attitude to just close some vents so that the heat could go back to the other rooms. During the summer it is pure hell is the master bedroom and 2nd bdrm. You have to almost use a fan in the master bedroom because the air barely is cold enough nor does it blow properly in the room. Also the refrigerator has been the pits from it making noises all times of night to it not freezing the ice properly. Another during the summer is the AC unit leaking once the air cuts off. Because of the back up, the AC began to leak, and caused mold to form on the ceiling tiles which by the way come out of the ceiling. I called maintenance to ask that it be repaired being as though myself and my child have asthma and they brought some spray that was suppose get rid of the mold once it is sprayed. Both me and my child I believe have developed respiratory problems as a result of there laziness. Lastly, most communities have it where you can pay rent at your leasing office right, well here, you must mail it in and take a chance on it getting lost or go to the nearest location which is Glen Burnie. GLEN BURNIE!!! You go there and make sure you are there before noon or 1pm or they will close the shade right in your face if you are not there exactly at the time they close. Then you have to deal with the cash collector, not sure what his name is but he is so rude and barely parts his lips when he is collecting the rent so, anyone who lives here may know who I am talking about. I would not recommend anyone to move here unless you are looking for a place to temporarily stay no more than a month or so especially for the amount of rent you will pay which is not bad but you could probably find another apartment complex right aroud the corner offering better service and actually have a washer and dryer in your unit. Columbia is a wonderful place to live however, do not let Henderson Webb deter you from living in Columbia.
