MAGGOTS IN APARTMENTS OF TENANTS WHO LIVE LIKE PIGS. MAINTENANCE IS EXTREMELY POOR! I RATE THAT A ZERO FOR NO EFFORT! FLOORS ARE SQUEAKY AND DOORS AS WELL. NOW FOR NOISE... THIS IS LIKE A CLUB. (EVERYDAY)I HONESTLY, WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS HELL HOLE TO ANYONE. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE CONDEMNED! RENTAL MANAGER DOESN'T ENFORCE RULES AND REGULATIONS. LETTERS PLACED ON WALLS, DOORS, ETC... HI, I AM SO FAMILIAR WITH THAT PLACE. SCARY TO KNOW A GIRL WAS SEXUALLY ASSAULTED, PEOPLE FIGHTING, MEN BEATING UP THEIR WOMEN, THE WOMEN PUTTING UP WITH THE NONSENSE, MAINTENANCE AND THE RENTAL MANAGER ARE LAZY. RENTAL MANAGER AWARE OF "ALL" THE ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES AND DOES NOTHING. I CAME TO VISIT SOME FRIENDS, OH MY GOODNESS! THE FIRST BUILDING, 9801, WAS DISGUSTING. ALL THESE THUGS OUTSIDE ALONG WITH THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING. THESE PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIVES LIKE PIGS. AS FOR 9801 AND 9817 ARE BY FAR THE WORST. THERE IS THIS GIRL THAT LIVES ON THE SAME FLOOR AS MY FRIEND. NOW THIS GIRL IN APT. 301 IS ON CRACK. SHE MUST BE. TOO MANY PEOPLE LIVING IN THERE. THE LADY WHO LIVES THERE IS SO INCONSIDERATE. SHE APPROACHED ME ASKING ME IF I HAVE ANY DRUGS OR PILLS. SCARY. I TOLD MY FRIEND, I AM NOT COMING BACK TO VISIT EVER. TOO MUCH CRAZINESS. THE PARENTS LET THEIR KIDS DO WHATEVER THEY WANT. A LOT OF UN-SUPERVISION ON THESE CHILDREN. DAMASCUS GARDENS IS NOT WHERE YOU SHOULD MOVE. FROM POOR MANAGEMENT TO MAINTENANCE AND DRUG DEALING. SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION.

Again, I made comments in July 9, 2008. We are moving out of Brigaider Place because Damascus Gardens are giving us a bad reputation. My kids are not allowed to have their friends to visit from school because my kids friend's parents said no. They think we live in a bad area. If you have children and think about moving in Brigaider Place, think twice for your children and safety. I recommend Ridge Manor condos over any other condos in Damascus area. Its sad to see we have to move again and its better for us to move into a better area for my children and their safety. Brigadier Place children have to walk to damascus gardens for school bus stop.( across from Lasalle drive) it makes it difficult for me and I take my children to school every morning. Children from Damascus Gardens are so bad to the bus drivers! Montgomery County police need to do something about this!! Clean it up!

WOW! I totally agree with the above 100%. My car has been damaged, people hang out all hours of the evening with disregards to other people. Police dont want to even be bothered with this place. Men hang out all hours of the day walking around screaming , people drive like idiots. Little kids no older then 3/5 years old cursing at adults. I used to own my home with my husband until we divorced. Now I live here what a terrible mistake a made. I feel like a prisnor in my own apartment which is really sad. The worse part is the drunks yelling back and fourth and the constant fights. Poor maintenance and he even lives onteh property w/ his family( and 2 rottwiliers). I agree 9801 and 9817 are a total disgrace. Parking is a total joke around here drive around you see broken down cars, smashed windshields, commerical vechiles on the property, motorcycles. I also can tell you that some of these people get free rent, free food, free medical care, free cars ( Yes) Dont work and live off the goverment and this is what you get. Half of the people thru out are related in some form or fashion. Babies also having babies. The property manager does not enforce any rules or regulations. Ms Willa is fully aware of whats going on and does very little to correct the issues at hand. you can always bank on her reposne being call the police. They will handle it! No they wont handle it I can tell you they detest responding to calls here. Poor EMS ( Fire Dept) you have to give these guys & gals some credit coming into this place with a smile on there face to help these crazy people who are all druged up , or fighting with one another. ***Background Checks** WHAT A FRICKING JOKE THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN CONVICTED OF CRIMES THAT ARE LIVING ON THIS PROPERTY.

I can't believe what I am reading. I am living in Germantown with my sister and I really need to move quickly. I applied to Damascus Gardens and I should be call to live there soon. When I went, I went in the later afternoon before she closed the office and I did not witness anything that you guys are mentioning. Don't you have patrol on site? I heard the police come in here to make sure everything is ok. What a shame I am now reading this. Are you serious about the crimes and drugs present? The rental manager seems very nice and friendly. I guess, I will have to find out for myself. That's a lot of negativity that is being poured out on this site. If it's that bad; then why can't the rental manager correct the situation. That is why they are there for. Are you bringing these matters to her attention? Do you complain to the police about it? What do they say? If so, by law the rental manager has to "ENFORCED IT" like you say. Listen, I need a place with my 2 children and I am going to move there real soon. I am a quiet person and prefer not to know anyone there. I work and don't need to be hassled. How are the schools in the area? Well, I hope you all can resolve your issues and make it a better stay for you and your children.

I used to live in the Gardens,, and what these people have said is pretty much true. I don't know how much worse its gotten, but if you stay in the house, then you shouldn't have much to worry about. When I lived there, I stayed to myself, and was just fine. If your kids want to play outside, you're better off taking them elsewhere.

I totally agree! This neighborhood has had a bad rap for as long as I can remember and still no one does anything about it! Even Ridge Manor is getting bad, no parking (kids from the HS take all the open spots) teens hanging around the children's play area at night, cars getting broken into and not to mention the noise! I can't believe that nothing is getting taken care of in this area, this is supposed to be a safe place to live, but not so much. I can't believe the community doesn't disclose this information to the rest of us, it would have saved us all a lot of grief! Come on Damascus, clean up your own backyard!!

I live in the garden's and it is like the hood...i lived here for 2years moved frm brooklyn ny this place is worst than some projects in bk i work 5 days a week i come home from work and see all these grown men just outside doing nothing but playing dice and drinking.They always ask if my job is hiring its a shame its times were i want to just call the cops but i ant no snitch..i wouldn't recormend u raise your kids in this hell hole

Well I agree with all of you I use to saty in Damascus and man it was a mess,,dont get to konw anyone up there it like wants you know someone up there you end up knowing tke whole place. I used to stay in 9821 and it was like being in a hell whole, the kids were off the hook just like most of the parnets. People selling drugs rite in your plan veiw, sitting all in front of the buildings when you walk up to get in the buildings they don't move, trash beer bottles, tabacoo from the inside of the blunts all on the ground. I mean like no respect at all just sick. Man when i got my voucher I hauled ass out ok there, i was not even there for a year. I would never recomend that hell hole to anyone. Now all i need ie for my lil cousin and her two kids to get the hell out of there
