I moved into Oakcrest about 2 years ago and am not at all surprised about the dramatic diffrences in the reviews of this complex as I have a few friends who live in diffrent buildings in the complex and your living experience here really can be diffrent based upon where you live. I live in 2110 which is the oldest of the buildings so it in comparison to the others is a lot more run down and has the worst of the roach infestations (becasue of a water leak in the lobby that the managment took forever to fix). I have visited other buildings in the same complex with nicer lobbies, more than one washer and dryer in a laundry room, and that seemed to be less neglected than mine and felt like I was getting the much shorter end of the stick for being in the same complex. Parking in front of certain buildings is plentiful and in front of others good luck! I think the managment is certainly to blame, I can only be but so surprised when work orders are written improbably, or when 1 or 2 of 3 issues are completed because when I visit the managament office the staff looks overwhelmed and are hardly ever pleasant, and I can't expect them to write a proper work order when most I have encountered can't provide a complete/non-ebonic sentence. This complex is something you live through when you are new to the area and/or trying to get to a place in your life where you can afford something up to standard. Management needs much more staff for the amount of units in this complex, routinly shampoo carpets to alleviate a lot of the bad smell in the hallways (and maintian all common areas for that matter), and seek experienced property managment staff members and staff members which they will probably have to budget for to make th diffrence I am sure the owners want to produce.

this sounds like a decent review and honest. its like each building has its own thing going on even though it is all still oakcrest towers. My building is always being cleaned, buffed the lobby floor, the fish are alive i the lobby fountain display lol, i really like it here, but i agree there could be some work done to the other builidnings so some one else can enjoy their stay like i have....

I feel that life in general is what you make it. Remember you make your home! How could you ask someone else about a place and not know how they live? They may not be a clean person and therefore their surroundings are not clean. How could you go by their comments? Someone may be moving into an apartment with the attitude that they are moving back into a house and therefore does not care about taking care of what someone else will get behind their move out. You may be oving with the intention of making OCT your permenit home and want to take care of it. You may ask someone who is a phobia crazy and everything bothers them. You might want to rent a house that way you have no worries about how other people around you live.You have control of your own repairs.beresponsible for your own saftey. Why do people think that someone else is responsible for their safety? Now that's crazy. I am a military brat and even on the military base crime takes place. My parents had us prepared to take care of ourselves at all times. Car theft in Maryland is off the chain. How could you even expect your car not to be tamper with living in this state. I hate this state with it's over rated advertising about how good this state is . All the comments I have read so far sound like it's someone complaining about the whole metropolitian area. OCT is the best part of the forestville area.
