The best thing for the both of you to do is to avoid Marlboro Pike & Brooks Drive totally.

prevpikeresident, why should they avoid Marlboro Pike and Brooks Drive? Are the areas unsafe or bad tenants?

I live in bldg 2140 and if you like the smell of weed and urine, then this is the place for you. I have been living here for two years and the window in my one bedroom apt is so dry rotted that if you kick it it will fall out. I have tried over and over to get the rental office to fix it, but to no avail. I have tried talking to scott management and still no avail. So my advice to you is to keep looking.

My mother in law lives in Oak Crest Towers. She lives in the builing behind the Rental Office builing and let me tell you, it's not easy. For those of you who are considering moving into OCT, think again. You will NEVER get Scott Management to do anything in the apartments, NEVER. They are a low budget Management Company and unless your apartment is completely falling apart, your request will go unanswered. I know this first hand because, I used to work for Scott Management. I did not like it at all. This company was not for me and I left on my own. For those of you who live at OCT and can not get your maintance request done, look in to putting your rent into an Escrow account with the courts. Contact the Court House in Hyattsville, Maryland. I'm not sure if it's District or Circuit Court but, contact them to find out how you go about putting your money in Escrow. They will make Management fix whatever the problems are in your apartment before they release the money. Do not try to hold the money your self, put it in ESCROW and let the Rental Office know of your intentions, then watch and see how your maintenance request suddenly get a response.
