I said to myself that I wouldn't respond until I've been in Oakcrest Towers for 6 months. I have good things and bad things about my bldg.

Bad Things

Clowns writing on the elevators
People littering in the hallways
Kids sometimes playing in the hallways
The Air Conditioning is all operated by one Boiler room (They should inform possible renters before moving into that bldg.)
They still haven't done anything on my list (The list I had to complete when I moved in) that needed to be fixed in my unit
When I first moved in---I didn't receive very clean or new appliances

Good Things

The maintenance office seem to always be friendly
Maintenance done in a timely fashion
Parking is okay only if you can get there before 7 pm
Bldg. is quiet for the most part
Neighbors are very nice
I have ants and not roaches or rodents so far... I can deal with an ant every now and again
Laundry facilities on the floors are clean
Our cleaning crew in our bldg. do a wonderful job of making sure the bldg. is cleaned everyday. When the kids write on the elevators the cleaning crew get it right off the next morning.

These are my experience so far. I must say for this to be District Heights, it is okay for me. I guess it could be worst. I think the rent is very steep but I will pay as long as I feel comfortable. I wish there were washer and dryers in the unit. Then I would be able to understand the high rent better.

I have to agree with you...I live in this building also. I was lucky to have everything clean when I moved in actually so clean that I am still trying to get the "new smell" out of my apartment. I am pregnant and for some reason the smell irritates me to death. I definitely agree about the parking sometimes I think everyone must get off at 4 and come straight home!! I live on the 4th floor and its pretty quiet also and dont usually have too much of a problem with littering in the hallways except for the millions of carryout menus that get stuck in your door!! I didnt even submit my checklist hopefully I dont regret it later. TOTALLY AGREE WITH THE RENT BEING STEEP...I probably will be moving soon just to have some extra money for my new baby otherwise I would stay its okay.
