Overpriced And One Of The Worse Places To Live

I have been living at Oakcrest Towers since 2001 and I am currently living in 2140 but have lived in 2120, and 2110. I have had several problems during my time here and can also vouch for the fact that several other of my neighbors have had problems as well. I plan to move by March because I just can't take it anymore. The elevators are constantly breaking down and leaving people stuck, I know several people who have had their apartments broken into and not had their doors repaired for days leaving people to sleep in unsecured apartments, cars are broken into and stolen or damaged every night, there a robberies in the lobbies and in the parking lot, the front to the building does not work properly and is always broken allowing the criminal element in and it's so bad that when you order delivery from the neighborhood carryouts they want you to come and pick up your food from the lobby in fear that they might be robbed. Maintenance is beyond slow when you call in a request for anything and management is the worse all they want to do is sit behind their desk and collect their paychecks, I have written several letters to them during my time here and have failed to get even one response. I have come home on 2 ocassions and found my apartment door unlocked because the maintenance staff person failed to lock the door. My door was left unlocked from 3:30 until I got home from work at 6:30 and I let them have it and put everything in writing, that was at least 2 months ago and I have still yet to receive a response. Trust me when I say they don't care. They seem to care about the outside more than they do on the inside and that is not good. When I first moved there I was so excited but they seem to be letting anyone move in now and the complex has really gone down and to top it off they have the nerve to be raising my rent by $40 this year which is the highest increase I have had since I have lived there. I don't mind paying rent or the increases if I see improvements being made but I don't and it's only getting worse so I have to leave. There is a lot of crime that goes on in the complex that is not passed on to the tennants because they are sweeping it under the rug, I now see why I am seeing so many vacancies throughout the complex and the only thing that has really kept me there this long is the fact that I really do love my apartment. I have noticed that as people move out they are putting in vertical blinds so that they can charge even more and that is really sad because I don't see what they are doing with all the money that they are charging now. I see no upgrades and when things breakdown in the building they stay that way for weeks at a time. What they need to with some of that money is invest in some roaming security guards for both inside and outside the buildings and install some security cameras around all of the buildings, lobbies etc. Oakcrest is not what it appears to be, but just looking at it from the outside you will be fooled.
