If you are planning to move here...don't do it! Look elsewhere...
BLDG 2120
Rats/mice..Roaches..Trash refuse is ALWAYS full...laundry room is out often (5th floor), smelly carpets in the hall way, Elevators always out, slow.. and way to small for moving furniture; there is no cargo elevator for moving ..so it will take some work; especially if you have big furniture.
Lots of loitering by the young thugs (soory, I meant tenants) .. and will even stop you and ask you for bus fare.. OMG...tenants too lazy to put trash in the refuse, instead will leave it in the hall way. Our fire alarm goes off at least 3 times a month FOR NOTHING.
Along with Oakcrest letting all these YOUNG Kids (I am thinking section 8) people move-in and do not give a damn about the property. Tenats on my floor was in a studio..they had at least 6 people living there and had people in and out all the time. On a few occasions , I saw drug transactions being handled. Also, Management is very POOR. It takes forever to get anything done. In Sept 2007, the apartment above me flooded. In stead of oakcrest contacting me..they went into my apartment, put down a nast trash can under the leak and did nothing else. My thing is, they should have called me, because the leake was near my computer desk and other electronics. Thank God, nothing was messed up, but you would have thought they would have moved it out of the way and contacted me. Here it is a year later and I STILL HAVE THE SAME WATER STAINS on my ceiling and in the light fixtures. The ceiling has even began to crack! My stove goes out at least once a month... the last time, it took them a month to light the pilot light (if I cooked often, I would have really raised hell) - My fridge, does not close unless you slam it.. one weekend I went away.. I thought it was closed, I came home and I had to throw out all my food. On any occassion in my building , you can find a pile of poop in the stairwell... YES.. we have a homeless person, that constantly sleeps, eats and poops in our building. This has been reported by several tenants..think they did anything about it' Also, the leasing office is BAD about handling your rent. I suggest you pay with a Debit Card and KEEP ALL YOUR RECEIPTS, because they will screw you when it is time to move. I am so glad I had mine... I aggree with the original blogger ..there are lots of folk in my building who do not care..so yes, you have to keep candles , etc on hand to make sure your place keeps a pleasant smell.. Lastly, my hardwood floors should have been changed yrs ago .. I have to wear shoes at all times, because of the many splinters all over the place. They promised to come in and do carpet etc..and of course nothing has happened.
Now we have an increase of professional caucasians moving in.. Maybe they will help me get some action, because they are not going to stand for this foolishness. I can't wait until this lease is up

Wow! I lived at OC over 10 years ago and I am shocked how it has changed. When I lived here the biggest thug around was that fat ass Ms. Collins (the so-called accountant.) The rats/mice were not there. The roaches only hung out in the trash rooms and I dared to see section 8 around there. Maintenance is and will always be trife, so that's not shocking. I can't believe that they still have those old ass 1970 wood floors!!! Those floors were disgusting in 1999 when I moved from there.
Then I looked at the pricing and they have the audacity to charge high ass rates for rental of their nasty ass units. PLEASE! As far as those thugs, I knew that was going to happen when they put that bus line through there and given that OC is located in FORESTVILLE, down the street from SE, and right across the way there's Suitland are you really suprised?? Just be happy that you've made the decision to get out of there instead if sitting dormant and wasting your hard earned bucks on this trash!!

Hello,
I haven't signed a lease as yet, but September 30th will most likely be my moving date. I'm going tomorrow to put down a $200 holding fee and I'll be demanding the leasing office building. After reading all these reviews, I kind of think its a bad mistake, but the price is so great. Do you think I'll be fine with the 2100 building? Please give your thoughts regarding this specific building? And list all buldings to stay away from. I greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I would suggest that you contact the PG County Housing and Community Development http://www.co.pg.md.us/government/agencyindex/hcd/ ... I am counting down the days to get out of there.. Iknow I better not have any problems getting my deposit back.
