What can I say' Berkshire had a lot better management when I moved in in 2001 - we even used to have a cable channel that ran info from the rental office 24 hrs a day. Now I don't even know the manager's name. Even though they were on Jack Johnson's 10 worst complexes list, I can say that in 5 yrs I have never experienced any crime personally - now I've SEEN some crime and gunshots outside at night are not unusual.

DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE CUTE MODEL APARTMENT IN THE RENTAL OFFICE. These apartments have niced size bedrooms & kitchens but everything in the apartments is old & mgmt doesn't put any money into fix-up. When new people move in, they paint over everything (my kitchen cabinets look like they have had 10 coats of paint). The closet doors are old & don't stay on the tracks & the balconies are made of wood that probably hasn't been changed in decades.

MICE MICE MICE - in these apartments are out of control! And what does the rental office do about it' U have to go in the office & they give u these flimsy flat glue traps that u lay around so u can catch your own mice! One time we caught 5 mice or so in one week and still saw more...

TERRIBLE MAINTENANCE - we have been trying to get our vanity replaced for months. The dry-rotted wood cabinet has totally collapsed from under the sink & mgmt has been saying they've been ordering us a new one forever. In the meantime, we brush our teeth over the tub and pray that company won't ask to use our bathroom.

Also there is no maintenance on the central air system. I recently learned that filters are supposed to be changed every yr & the vents need cleaning, otherwise your system pulls twice as much electricity when u run the air! We got a bill for one month that was almost $300 (when I 1st moved in, I never had a bill over $100 in the summer) & mgmt could care less... & they had the nerve to add on a $25 energy charge to everyone's monthly rent last year!

There also used to be 2 entrances & there were convenient Metro bus stops thru the property. Mgmt decided to inconvenience tenants by locking up the entrance on my side of the complex, stopping the buses & causing us also to have to drive 3-4 times further just to get to stores up the street! Thank God we are moving next month! 5 years here is way too long...

i agree completly with your postings. i wsh there was somewthing we could do a s community to bring attention to their lack of professionalism. Rimsi corp are slumlords and we shouldn't have to pay our rent for garbage. i want to showcase the apartments on fox 5 if I get enough people.

AMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEN!!!!! I lived in Berkshire from 2004-2006. As SOON as I signed my new lease for 06, is when the mice came. I called the rental office almost every single day and all they gave me was glue traps. I can buy my own glue traps. I wrote a letter to the health dept. and rimsi corp. The health dept. sent out a social worker while I was at work and the rental office refuse to let him in my apartment. I went as far as catching a mouse and putting it on the B**** desk in the rental office. (I thought that would have opened some eyes, yeah right!)..I caught about 3 mice a week. I had a letter from my daughters doctor for personal reasons, they didnt care about that. I rode past my old apartment the other day and saw a light on..I hope whoever lives there now has stocked up on mouse traps and poison. Im willing to protest or do whatever it takes for Berkshire to clean up their act.

OH MY GOODNESS, YOU ARE NOT LYING ABOUT NOTHING YOU JUST WROTE. IVE BEEN THERE FOR 6 MONTHS, AND IVE CAUGHT ABOUT 7 MICE. IT IS INSANE. I HATE THESE APARTMENTS. I ONLY MOVED THERE BECAUSE IT WAS CHEAP. I GUESS YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO MOVE THERE! THEY ARE SO NASTY. I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL MY LEASE IS UP. IM COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS. AND ANOTHER THING, THEY ARE SO QUICK TO TOW YOUR CAR BUT WHEN IT COMES TO SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED YOU MIGHT AS WELL FORGET IT.EVERY DAY I COME HOME FROM WORK, ITS BOYS POSTED UP IN THE HALLWAY, THE SMELL OF WEED AND ALCOHOL IN THE AIR, CIGARETTE ASHES GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN THE STEPS ITS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE. PLEASE PEOPLE DONT BE FOOLED BY THE MODEL APARTMENTS, DO A INVESTIGATION OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD, ASK QUESTIONS, YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID SO. BRI81092004
