TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE.
Don't even think of moving here. This company believes in getting over on anyone who rents from them. When Suitland cleans up Homer Ave. They also need to do themselves a favor and rebuild Pennbrooke.
First of all, I use to live there for over a 2 year period. When I moved in the carpet wasn't new. If the carpet isn't too dirty they just simply steam clean it and tell you it's new.
They had the nerve to send me a bill in the mail to replace the entire carpet.
It's not like i had a house full of kids, with a bunch of fruit punch or something like that splattered around.
Upon the first inspection, the master bedroom door had a bullet hole in it which they tried covering up with putty and painted over it. This company had the nerve try and charge me for that over a $100 dollars. I disputed it because luckily that was one of the things I noticed on my inspection prior to me moving in.
Make sure you check and write everything down for your first inspection.
Its very important b/c if you paid your rent on time or you complain too much they have something to hold against you. You might stand a chance of losing out on your receiving your security deposit after vacating.
The dishwasher never worked, whenever you place your dishes in it, it would spit dirty water with other food particles onto your dishes.
At first I felt good knowing I had a dishwasher and thought it would save alot of valuable time. "WRONG" The dishwasher I had in my apartment was old as beans. The only thing it was good for was spitting out some dirty filthy a** water onto my dishes. When I called to complain about it they sent one of their "maintainance" workers out to take a look at it. He had to nerve to tell me to run some vinegar thru the machine and it will clean it. Well I just saved me the trouble and washed my dishes by hand.
Check your phone jacks for god sake!!!!!
The phone jackes COULD be roach infested. If a phone jack is infested with roach eggs then eventually so will your apartment. This means its possible you could have roaches after you sign your lease and move in. Spray is not going to help either they will constantly be awake when your asleep. They will become your worst neighbors ever. I didn't know that until I called the phone company to get phone service at my place. I ended up paying them extra to fix it and when they handed me the old outlet that joint was filled with a bunch of roach eggs and other residue. This had to be like 2 weeks after we moved in.
To top it off, you would have to constantly call to place your name on a list to have your apartment exterminated. On top of that we would constantly remove everything from the kitchen as requested by them only to come home and nothing would be sprayed.
You would constantly have to call them week after week to find out whether or not they would come out. I guess the constant turn around from tenants vacating would bring the roadents into everyone's apartment
The air conditioning, Do yourself a favor you would be better off puchasing some fans and pretend your living in the bahamas in the summer time b/c you'll still be hot. It pretty much works when it wants to on one side of the street and on the other side it works excellent. We suffered for 2 years, constantly calling to have a inefficient system "bled" That s*** only worked for 1 afternoon. At night it was hot again.
Now let's get to the heat. You might as well be outside sleeping with the homeless or pretending you live in Alaska somewhere. We had to literally sleep with the damn oven on all the time. They system they have is a flook, it blows out luke cold air, its like its on 70 degrees all the time. In the summer it hot like your in a sauna, and in the winter your frezzing like your in an igloo.
"THE PARKING"
OH MY GOSH, These idiots had the nerve to invent their own way to reduce the amount of cars a family owns within an apartment complex. They only give you 1 parking guest pass, while the other "STICKER" goes on your car. "NOW HOW SMART IS THAT" If your family ownes 2 cars like mine does you can't even bother having any company. If you do your car can and will be towed for about $170-200. Thats rediculous so if you don't like having company or family over etc. You'll be at home here.
These apartments are a ripoff. The system really needs to come down harder on apartment places like this. We keep places like this in business and they piss in our face and tell us its raining.
YEA AT FIRST THE PRICE SEEMS AFFORDABLE BUT YOU'LL BE INCONVIENCED IN THE LONGRUN. YOUR PAYING FOR SOMETHING THATS NOT WORTH IT AND WHEN ITS TIME FOR YOUR LEASE TO BE RENEWED. THEY WILL CHARGE AND ADDITIONAL $125 PER MONTH TO DO A MONTH TO MONTH LEASE AGREEMENT YOU'LL BE RECEIVING THE SAME OLE ROACH INFESTED, NO HOT WATER HAVING,SAFETY POLICY VIOLATING, CAR TOWING, FILTHY LANDSCAPING A** APARTMENT YOU HAD AFTER YOU SIGNED THE DOTTED LINE.
THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR TENANTS.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LIVE IN YOUR CARS BEFORE YOU CHOOSE TO LIVE HERE AT LEAST YOU CAN HAVE COMPANY WITHOUT PAYING A TOWING FEE.
