I have been living here for about 10 years, and I can't find a better place to live in the area. Very clean spacious apartments, most of my neighbors have been living here around the same amount of time or longer. I know the Managers and owners like to keep a safe surrounding for the tenants. Every neighbor that I communicate with will report anything that is not suppose to go on in our complex to keep us safe and the complex clean and keep out what ever is going to make Spanish Village stereotypical. I have known the maintenance man for years and he never hesitate to fix anything and does a fine job. Ms. Gregg was the Manager for years and did a good job. I think Ms. Chase is following her path. You are not going to find Beverly Hills in District Heights but Spanish Village is a nice neighbor hood to live.

Ms Chase is NO Ms Gregg, and I'll bet $$ she won't be here much longer. And, I've known 'the maintenance man' (the one they NEED to get rid of...) for the 20 MONTHS ((trying to move asap!!)) I've been here, and while at first he was pleasurable, he has revealed himself to be nasty, rude and disrespectful, to me and to MANY of the residents here and actually told ME that I needed ..."to mind my own damn business"...

well since you responded to my comment let me reply... I was a very good tenant, paid on time and followed the rules. My real problem started when I complained about that sorry maintenance man... He let the fire marshalls in my apartment to do an inspection and left my front door WIDE OPEN-NOT UNLOCKED- BUT OPEN, my door was not even shut!!!!!!!. Can you imagine how upset I was? And Ms. Chase- the so called manager- is not worth the writing space......they spie on you and your family, and they took everything for the youth out of the complex...except a small gated playground in the back corner of the complex, is that making the grounds safe? the pool doesnt even work, they took up the basketball court, and the kids cant even ride their bikes on the SIDE walk! the maintenance man came to fix my air conditioner and used my good towels to wipe up Half of the mess and threw it over my shower rod full of crud. HE used my chairs to hold down the tiles on the floor in my kitchen from him slapping glue on top of the old glue that wasnt holding down the tile in the first place,so when I came home my kitchen was out of order and the tile was lifting up all around the legs of the chairs, instead of him doing it right in the first place and stripping the old glue up. So now my floor is a bigger mess than before. I swear I could go on for days... nothing he came to fix actually got fixed... and since when do adults have a curfew? My husband walked a friend to the car and the next morning that simple a$$ maintenance man came to me to tell me I had some men hanging in the parking lot and they have to be indoors after 10pm. What was he on window gaurd? then theres another old man that walks around all day watching people. We're not criminals, we're tenants, and if you like being treated like a criminal and your friends and family being studied, while paying over $1000 for rent than your definately in the right place. I will never recomend them to anyone I care about. If I wanted to, I could build a case against this "private owned" complex for discrimination, violation of tenant privacy, and some more.... Thats how serious things became for me.... they just better be glad I was more relieved than upset to leave!
