I lived in Spanish Village for 2 years. I loved my apartment. I moved because I purchased a home. The Resident Manager Mrs. Betty Gregg was great. She ran a "tight ship" which is the reason why the complex was so nice. She did not allow children to play in the parking lot, or in the hallways. I never saw a roach or mouse during my entire 2 years. Maintenance issues were addressed in a timely manner, considering the complex had one maintenance man "Ronnie." Ronnie was responsible for approximately 12 buildings, and I think he did well considering the large workload. There was no "Racial Issue, or "Click"...Mrs. Greg was selective in the tenants....which is the reason the complex was so nice. The old man, mentioned by some irate person, would keep and eye on things while we worked and slept....
If I decide to sell my home and move into an apartment...I would move back to Spanish Village

You're kidding...right???Ms Betty Gregg has been GONE from Spanish Village for 2 years now and has been replaced with someone that has NO clue as to how to be a Resident Manager. And, sometimes, being "selective" and running a "tight ship" can and often IS attributed to being discriminated against. Sadly, there is now NO PLACE for the children to play. as the playground has been closed after someone complained of "undesirable" children from the complex next door coming over to use the lone basketball court WITH our kids...Fortunately, THEIR complex isn't as "selective" and "tightly run" as ours, as they DO allow our kids to swim in THEIR pool, since our pool has been "broken" for nearly 10 years...as far as the roach and mice, you should have met the lady in one of the buildings that DID have mice that I personally know about...it would have been nice to have had HER thoughts on here regarding them, and what she had to do to have them removed...like putting one in a box that she caught...her dog caught it, actually, and walked it over to the office to PROVE she had them......she has since moved. I wont speak of the "old man", cause I'm not certain which one you're talking about. If he lived in the first building, sadly, he has passed. SEVERAL years ago.. But I DO wonder how he could have "watched over us" as we worked...AND "watched over us as we slept"...when did HE sleep???

I agree with anonymous. I have moved since I posted my comments about this complex. As far as I know, the "DISCRIMINATORY" issues still exists, there are still mice, (I've never seen a roach), and there is still no place for children to play. Oh, and the old man still is in everyone's business. Spanish Village has the potential to be enjoyable for ALL.....NOT JUST FOR THOSE WHO ARE RETIRED AND/OR THOSE WHO HAVE NO CHILDREN!!! It sickens me to even think of my experiences there..... mean, inconsiderate, old and nosey neighbors that have nothing to do but run to the residential manager all day and complain. NEVER IN MY LIFE have I lived in a complex where I felt like the neighbors do not want me or children around around. I have since moved into a single family home and I'm so glad that I have moved. I now have peace of mind and my family is now happy.
