Reading the reviews I can see the validity in all off the comments somewhat. Yes, the property is not the most up-to-date as far as appliances in the kitchen, bathroom and amenities, however the rooms are spacious. The property is kept clean and quiet.

In addition to the spacious rooms, I DO like the tenants' sense of community here. Neighbors speak to each other and know each other by name. Neighbors look out for each other. The grounds are well maintained and the hallways are kept clean. For the individual apartment's size, the rent is very reasonable/affordable. It's a quiet property. Minimal to no "riff-raff". I think that is due to the no loitering rules. Occassionally you'll have the loud parking lot talkers laughing, cursing and talking loud or playing loud music in cars in the parking lot after 10PM, so I can understand the "curfew." I agree...carry that inside. Frankly, I'd like to rest soundly myself. I feel that Ms. Chase is a fair woman. What property manager you know is liked by EVERYONE, really' Unless you present yourself otherwise, she addresses you accordingly. She's been respectful, fair, sincere and caring. I think a manager SHOULD be selective, within reason, with who is allowed to reside here. It's worked well.

As far as the attributes I DO NOT like... I had hope the pool to be open for relaxing after work and on the weekends. Ronnie, the "maintenance" man/"I'll work on your car if you'll let me" man. I refer to him as "Patches" and rightly so. Eighty percent of his work is horribly done and is quick patched up work. It's really bad! Every tenant in the complex has at least two examples of remnants of his work in their apartment that scream "Ronnie did this!" Paul, the self-proclaimed resident neighbor watch, is very nosey, but he will help you if needed. I take him with a grain of salt though. I don't have children, so I'm not affected by the lack of a play area.

Overall the property needs some improvements, but for the District Heights area, it's a oasis compared to the surrounding communities. Truely.

well...you ARE right about SOME things, for sure, Yurneybur...'PATCHES' is an appropriate name. Sadly, we dont get to pay our RENT in patches, so the repair jobs need to be done RIGHT the FIRST time. How about WHY is it it's taken over TWO years to replace the windows...and only on the FRONT apts. Those that live in the BACK are still faced with old, antiquated windows that leak heat and a/c like the windows arent even there. Course, they pay the same rent as those on the front. The balcony railings are ALL rusted and unsafe for children to handle. And yes, Paul IS Paul!! LOL... The pool has been closed for over TEN years now, though some tenants moving in are thinking or being told that the 'repairs are going to be made for NEXT year'...at least thats what I was told when I asked about the pool. THAT was 4 years ago. Should we talk about the "security" in place?? Course, they ALWAYS give them apts on the REAR of the complex, to make SURE that cant a damn thing from their apts. I suppose thats why we are still having cars stolen and broken into, as recently as last week, you think?? Between Patches and "Invisible", the security guard, who can tell which salary is being wasted the most...And finally...why go up, AGAIN, on the rent at a time most can least afford that increase? Are we getting ANYTHING for this increase??? ANYTHING at ALL??? OK, so a building or 2 got a new roof...Thats cause the "Patchwork" was failing, I suppose. The dry walls in this place are all horrible and look like Patch City. The carpet, when you are fortunate enough to move in and get new carpet, is the cheapest on the market. As you said, the baths and kitchens are all still stuck in the '50's or '60's. MANY updates can still be done while the apt is occupied, IF they wanted to spend the money they rake in from rent increases. They dont have to wait for someone to move to do SOME updates. I just had a funny though...where was the "neighborhood watch" and Invisible the night they backed a TRUCK up to the soda machine and dragged it away??? lol...or, another truck drove in one night, and dumped 3 dumpsters full of roofing material and NAILS into and all around our trash dumpsters...course, just 2 weeks ago, vandals knocked down and cut down the shrubs at the front gate...where was "Invisible"?...lol...let me stop...lol
