Cool, I just found this site and wish I had read it before moving to Maryland last year. One question though: How do you know if management is posting postive reviews about their apartments to boost their ratings'

Sherwood is an ok place to live if you can stand some of the annoyances. There's only one dumpster but luckily I live close enough to not have to walk very far. But maybe this is good because then all the garbage is contained in one place. On the other hand, residents keep dumping bulk garbage there causing a mess. Management needs to post better signs and inform residents again where to dump large items. Noise is also an issue. Planes landing at BWI are sometimes loud and low. Traffic on 95 is loud some days. Even traffic in the apartment complex is loud. Also, the many stop signs after the speed bumps is annoying. Parking is a problem but can be solved by towing the cars without parking stickers. Management needs to put notices on these cars telling them not to park there, write down their license plate numbers, and make many checks in the future. If they see a car on their list, they should tow it. I doubt management will do this since I find them incompetent and rude. They seem as if you are bothering them if you ask for a maintenance request. And if you do request to have something fixed, expect to wait weeks.

All in all, you can pay about the same amount for better places in Columbia. I've already started looking at other apartments in case they raise rent when my lease is up this year.
