We have lived here just over two years and although I find them a little pricey (but so is everything else in this area) I think Sherwood Crossing is a nice place to live.

We've never had problems with maintenance not coming out when needed (and we've needed them on serveral occassions); they have always been curteous and take care of the problems. These guys are busy...I see them hard at work any time I drive in and out of the complex. I find that if you treat people as humans and with a little respect, and don't start out a converstation by berating them, then they will treat you with repsect and do their job as effectively as they can. A little respect goes a long way.

Yes, the stackable washer and dryer are small but I am just glad the apartment has one and I don't have to haul my laundry out to a shared laundry room and put quarters in a machine to wash my clothes. I enjoy the convenience of having my own washer and dryer, and a full size washer and dryer would definitely NOT fit in this apartment.

I do agree with one other reviewer that their heavy snow removal leaves a little to be desired but it's not like we have to deal with that more than two or three times a year. The heavy snow removal appears to be contracted out and then our maintenance team is responsible for the sidewalks and other clean-up. When I found a spot in front of our building that was particularly icy I simply stopped by the office on my way out and let them know about it. By the time I returned from running my errands that day the spot was covered with salt.

There is only one dumpster area for the entire property but you get used to taking your trash with you when you have to run out someplace. (Actually, there is a second dumpster area for large items and furniture. However, most people don't bother to read the info they receive when they move in here so they are not aware of it; they just leave their furniture around the trash dumpster so the maintenance guys have to move it.) The dumpsters are the trash compacting kind and do a good job with the amount of trash we have (around Christmas time I noticed they brought in an extra dumpster to deal with all the gift boxes and Christmas trees). We have friends who live in another complex in this area and can't believe we only have one dumpster area since they have several at their complex and our property is much cleaner than theirs; maintenance and groundskeeping do a great job keeping the grounds clean and neat looking.

On that note, we have dogs and were so glad to see management install those dog waste stations, it has made clean-up much more convenient. Yes, we actually DO clean up after our dogs! I hate to see people who just let their dogs do their business and then walk away without cleaning it up. And how lazy can people be to have their dog do its business within 3 feet of the dog waste stations, and not clean it up'!

The highway noise is a nuisance but we have an apartment in the back of the complex right near the highway. Yes, the new windows and patio door made a slight difference but since we are so close to the highway the noise is still overwheleming at times. As far as noise from other apartments we don't have much of a problem with that. Sometimes the music gets a little loud but not too often. We've been fortunate with the neighbors we've had...it helps if you get to know them.

There is not a lot of parking (when this complex was built I am sure not every family had 2-3 cars so they thought it was plenty), if you want to be assured of having a spot then you have to spend the extra money to rent a car port spot. There are a couple of guest parking lots and it would be nice if people would actually use them but most people aren't that courteous.

Safety...there have been some muggings in the area, and some cars have been broken into to since we've been here. In these instances the office has sent out notices to let us know what has happened.

I think that about sums up my experience living here.
