Wow, JPI has been horrible..they are incredibly inexperienced and unprofessional. Both my roommate and i have had bad experiences with the office staff. first of all, we had a maintenance issue and it took them half a month to fix it, but the disturbing part was that the office staff didnt even seem to have reported it the first time. i had to GO to the office and watch her write it down (on a pad of normal note paper..not a maintenance request form). she seemed extremely inexperienced. then, my roommate had a package to pick up and she left work early to go get it during office hours, but their doors were locked. basically, they shut and locked their doors and were sitting in there talking and would not open it, even though office hours were still open. other residents waited angrily and stormed off after being ignored. my roommate called the office and the lady inside said they were having a meeting and there should be a note on the door. my roommate told her that there was no note, and just asked to let the manager know that this issue was being handled poorly. the lady then proceeded to HANG UP ON HER! when my roommate called back, the lady ignored the phone! needless to say, we have filed a complaint with the management company in virginia and will be talking with the manager of our complex next week. too bad...we were happy here, but after this new management came in, this complex is going down. we are out of here!

What does it matter to you that the service request was written on normal notebook paper? How do you know she wasn't writing it down so she wouldn't forget? Do you work in the office? It sounds like you and your roommate ar very critical and need to know the facts beofore you jump to conclusions.

This very same incident happened to me. Don't let the staff write the maintenance issue on notebook paper or sticky note (in my case). They make a habit of not entering the issue into their maintenance system. Tell them you want it entered into the computer and want a print-out for your records. This way you have proof that you submitted a maintenance issue!

I agree they write it down on a sticky note and never take care of the issue. When you call them back on it, they say they have no record of it. I even so far as told them, i talked to this person about this issue on this date. that person says they don't rememeber. If this happened just one time, i wouldn't care but it happens a bit too often for my comfort. I would bet they have a policy about recording requests, but just aren't following it.
