Don't move to Elkridge

First of all, this is probably the nicest place in Elkridge. Unforunately that's not saying much. Go ahead and move to Elkridge if you like paying $1200/month for a dinky old apartment next to such scenic properties as trailer parks, junkyards, pawn shops, liquor stores, and low income housing all with the wonderful background of constant jet airplane noise from the airport. This is one of the worst areas to live in the country, period. If you absolutely have to live in this part of Maryland, there are really only two options: Columbia and Annapolis.

Onto the apartment itself. It's small and expensive. Your neighbors probably either do drugs or have a bunch of out of control kids. The walls are cracker thin, the carpet is old and cheap. The washing machine and dryer and probably the most unuseble design ever. The dishwasher is laughably ineffective. The shower doesn't really get you wet, but more or less covers you in a fine mist - just enough to give you the illusion that you've taken a shower, but not enough to get the soap off of your body. The microwave and refridgerator are equally annoying as the rest of the appliances.

Now on to the ammenties. First, it's bad enough when an apartment complex advertises itself by putting pictures of its 'clubhouse' on its website. Yeah, like you're actually going to go there and hang out with your friends in family in their luxuroius couches and whatever else they have. Of course there is the 'gym' there, which is really just a small room with two treadmills and a weight rack. But somehow, I've managed to have hundreds of dollars worth of things stolen from there.

Then there's the price. $1200/month for a 2 bedroom. Only $1200/month for all this! Gee, move to any other part of the country except New York or L.A. and that will buy you a decent mortgage on a nice house. But who needs that when you can have apartment living at its finest in Elkridge!

Basically, think long and hard about whether you really want to move to this area or not. If you have to live in Elkridge, I guess you're stuck here unless you want to try the trailer park next door.
