Nice, but some annoying problems...

The community has a nice setup, garages on the ground floor for each unit which is great for storage and parking. Some of the perks are nice too, a 24 hour cardio gym (2 eliptical machines and 2 treadmills; the weight system is a joke, so I won't even consider it part of the gym) and free Gevalia pods coffee machine in the clubhouse/leasing office during working hours.

The community does have problems that are quite annoying though. I'll mention them in order of how much they annoy me:

The washers and dryers are really cheap, only high heat setting for dryers and only warm or cold washes. What happened to medium and air fluff for the dryer' What happened to hot water washes' The dryer is also really slow at drying.

The trash situation is hilarious. They have 1 trash compactor for the entire community. Unless you live close to it, you'll have to drive your trash to the compactor or walk 5 mins each way while lugging a trash bag. The compactor also does not automatically compact the trash as it gets filled, the grounds worker has to activate it manually with a key, so it sometimes fills up.

The sliding doors are poorly installed and maintained. There are gaps between the door and the frame, so insulation is nonexistent. When the wind blows, the venetian blinds move even though the sliding door is closed and locked.

The street running by the community entrance is fairly busy since it connects to Rt 40. Many of the locals have their cars pimped out with huge amps and subwoofers, so the sound of thumping music is somtimes constant. The community neighbors that live across the street aren't the most quite people too. Their kids ride dirt bikes around their lawn and they own a car with a thumping sound system.

Parking is fine as long as your don't own many cars or have friends over a lot. You have your own garage and driveway, but if you use your garage for storage and have more cars than your driveway can fit, you'll get annoyed. The extra spaces throughout the community are sparse and the people with units next to them usually fill them up.

EDIT:
I moved out in 2008 and have updated my ratings based on my views at the time of moving out. I still believe all of my concerns mentioned above are valid, but I'll update the ones that need refreshing after living at the community for 2 years.

The trash situation isn't too bad once you get into a routine of driving your trash to the trash compactor. The compactor area still became a mess sometimes (when residents would move out and leave tons of garbage around the compactor), but it was always cleaned promptly.

The road running by the community (Delancy Rd) was even more busy when I left, due to new commercial businesses opening on Rt 40, but the traffic is never an inconvenience. The neighbors across the road were also more quiet after my first summer there. Maybe their kids moved out.

In any case, my rating of this apartment community improved after living here for 2 years. I ran into a few maintenance issues and they were fixed in lightning speed. Once time I forgot to call in a minor repair until 2 PM. When I arrived home that same day at 5 PM, the problem was fixed. I was paying month or month when I left and their 30 days notice is convenient (most other places seem to have a 60 day rule). Lastly, my deposit was also returned very quickly, within a few weeks of moving out.
