So far, so good

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
I have lived in this apartment complex for 6 months now, and don't have any complaints. I do think that it is expensive, but the complex and grounds are pretty nice. If you try to find something much cheaper, you may end up somewhere not so safe. I feel safe walking my dog at night, and safe coming from my car in the parking lot at night. The staff has always come to fix my problems right away, and the maintenance people are very kind and professional. They did get a new trash compactor which is nice, because it hides all of the ugly trash. The apartment is average, and mine isn't updated with the oak cabinets, but I am sure they can't get to all of them at once.
I moved from a single family home after coming out of a divorce, and from previously living in apartments when I was single, I knew what to expect. The people that complain on here have to realize that you are living in a community type living where everyone is extremely squeezed tightly together. There are things in apartment complexes that the managers and staff cannot control, and there are also rules in which everyone has to abide. Coming from my own home, I am not used to this, but I realize that living in a complex is a choice I made, and I have to live with the inconveniences of apartment living.
There are a few things about Stonegate that are kind of annoying, but nothing that they can really control. First, there is goose feces ALL over the sidewalks and road. I don't know if there is anything they can do, BUT there are geese that live in the pond - where else are they supposed to go'!!! Also, if you live in a bottom apartment, there is a serious draft in the winter, and your gas and electric bills are pretty high from the heat constantly running. The draft is also very chilling. I am assuming this is due to very cheaply made windows that I am sure are the originals from when the complex was built. The only other complaint that I have is that the people above me keep throwing cigarette butts off of their balcony, landing on my patio. But like I said before, the apartment staff cannot completely control the ignorance of other people.
I am saying that I am so far impressed with the staff at Stonegate. They are very accommodating, and aim to please when I need assistance. Most of the issues that people complain about are just everyday apartment-living complaints. I am happy here so far, and will stay until I decide to buy a home. I am actually disappointed that Stephanie the previous apartment manager has gone. Hopefully the new manager will be able to fulfill Stephanie's impressive managing skills.
