I thought I would have loved it here...

I was going to get a great deal on an apartment here, but the staff treated me so disrespectfully that I decided regardless of the great price, it was not worth it.
First I came in to look at an apartment, and put in an application. Then after they accepted my application in writing (which, they did not mean to), they came back and tried to tell me that they'd reserved the wrong apartment for me, and that if I wanted it, it would be an extra $250 a month. I consulted a lawyer, who told me that I had the law on my side due to the paperwork they gave me stating that they did not have to honor the application unless they accepted it in writing. I pushed them on this, but relented and said that since I'd already given notice that I was leaving my old apartment complex, that I wouldn't fight them on this if they could give me exactly what I had applied for but in different apartment.
They agreed, and after pressing them, they let me know where the new apartment would be and reconfirmed my new move in date. Three weeks before my move in date, I set up an appointment to sign my lease (as I had not heard anything from them in a month). I set up to show up at 1:30 on a Thursday and took the afternoon off work. When I got there, the office was closed with a "Will return at 2:30" sign. I was angry, but poked around the neighborhood for a while. When I returned at 2:15, the time on the sign had been moved back until 3:00. While waiting other residents showed up and waited for them to open. They told me it wasn't a pleasant place to live.
When they finally opened and got to me, they had no record of me coming and the leasing agent wasn't there. I just asked to see the apartment anyway, and gave them my license so they would let me in. After scrambling to find the key, I got a look at the apartment. It was a decent apartment, though obviously very old, which I didn't much mind.
When I went back to the leasing office, I had to wait for the leasing agent for another 20 minutes. When I finally saw her, she offered no apology and took no responsibility for the canceled appointment, despite the fact that I said I was very upset about all the mistakes. She simply handed me the paperwork. And I told her that I wanted to take a copy with me and think it over, given the type of service they offered.
That evening I realized that they had never returned my drivers license to me. So I drove all the way back to the office in rush hour traffic to get it. When I arrived there, the leasing agent did not even bother to get of the phone to hand it to me. She reacted to me as though I was an annoyance to her.
After everything, and with my move out date looming, I decided that I'd prefer to do business with another company who offered better service. I ended up moving into Clarys Crossing in Columbia. The office staff was nothing by understanding and polite, and they bend over backwards to try to help me. It was a little more expensive, but highly worth it.
