I heard leases will not be renewed other than month to month as UDRT intends to gut the buildings and totally rebuild.....

Leases are not being renewed. Rents will be increased by 200-300 dollars. Buildings are not being gutted--but doors, windows, and in some cases applicances will be replaced. Everything is going electric and each Apt will have an individual hot water heater and tank. If you stay count on higher untility bills.
