Moved into a newly renovated apt. in Nov. 07 and started to smell a cat urine/mildew smell in Feb. 08. Mgmt. laughed at my findings and when they finally addressed it they said it was a slow leak coming from the next door upstairs shower. They told me they fixed it by putting a "clamp" on the leak, Now, I'm not a plumber but this sounded strange, but I trusted the maintenance team. In May 08 I began to notice the smell again and days later I stood in my closet getting ready for work and my socks became soaked. Come to find out there was a serious foundation issue in my ground floor apt. I was displaced for 3 weeks, not once did the Property Manager come over to look at the apartment or call me to offer to transfer me to another apartment. It wasn't until the corporate office found out I had retained an attorney and there was mold involved did I get their attention. The management is rude and unresponsive. I ended up getting $3000 as long as I didn't take them to court. Please don't move here...if you need an apt. in the area, The Greens at Columbia is close and I am so much happier since moving here!!! FYI: This is just one of many issues, the apartments are extremely loud and the management does not address this.
