Run far away

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
We lived there a very very short time back in 2006. It all started with a tiny leak in our bathroom ceiling. That leak turned out to be coming from way down the line of apartments...so 4 or 5 buildings down. Our bathroom ceiling was removed and NEVER put back up. I kid you not. We lived there 6 months. It was during our 2nd month that they took the ceiling down. So 4 months, no ceiling in the bathroom.
There were snakes - everywhere. Copperheads from what my husband told me. There was a baby one on our patio one day. He went out to remove it as we had a young child. We reported it to the leasing office. They complained that it was going to cost $800 to get someone out to look for the mother snake. A few days later, someone did come out. Guess where the mother was' Behind my air conditioning unit. Yikes. Turns out our upstairs neighbors said one came up on their deck. And here's the whooper. My husband told me after we moved out that they found one a vent when they were dismantling our bathroom. OMG.
Neighbors were beyond noisy. They played their stereo on the highest setting everyday. We made daily complaints about them and nothing. It was a huge relief to us when they moved out.
The kicker came when our neighbors had someone apartment sitting for them and overflowed something in the bathroom. It flooded the hallway and part of our apartment. The only thing the leasing office did was bring over a fan for a day. Never had anyone come and clean the rugs as promised. Guess what' Days later, mushrooms grew. And then the mold started growing on our walls.
We found a new place to live quickly. And moved out. The sad thing is, the leasing office didn't even know until a month later when our rent wasn't paid and they were calling for it - even after the reports of mushrooms and mold. How can you let that stuff grow and not do anything about it'
And yes, they've remodeled since we left, but there is no way ever that I'd step foot into any of those apartments again.
