I just recently moved to Doral Terrace less than six (6) Months ago. This place is a nightmare.Everytime I pull my car upto this apartment Complex my whole attitude changes. I am misable living here. The place looks trashy and dirty, there are too many children hanging around, I don't see any flowers or anything pertty. Just dry Mulch and balloons with a tight ass parking space. I pay over $1,000.00 per month for this Roach Motel. I did not know I adopted all these children (Roaches). The roaches are soooo bad here I am embrassed to invite or bring someone to my home. This is a bad situation, it is not bad enough you have to get up every morning and go to work, then you come home and find a notice that you have to move everything out of your cabinets for Extermination, as if you not tired, if you don't do it you have to pay a fee of $150.00 and once it over I have not seen not one dead roach since my extermination. Tell me this is not sad and then you have to put all the items back up and live with more and more roaches. Now they want you to pay $75.00 additional. The roaches are crawling all in the Laundry Room

I can believe you because I used to live there. No matter what Doral or yourself do to rid the roaches those little jokers are there to stay. Those aren't your regular roaches. For every one you do kill, five more take it's place. When you get ready to move just make sure you make a copy of your letter to move in a timely manner because the head management is known to ---- tenants over in a heart beat and lock you in to pay an additional month with a crazy montly increase of $200 in addition to what you're already paying. Also keep a copy of what ever paper work they do give you. I've felt your pain anonymous.

I lived there from Jan '06 through Dec'06, and I know what you mean. I stopped calling for an exterminator because the guy didn't do anything but put some of that paste stuff in stupid areas. They aren't trying to clean that place up. What I had to do was buy my own things, and I had everything from the paste, that I put at every crack and lined the whole apartment with it. It worked for me, but you know every so often you would see one walking around like it lived there too. Now with management. I feel you too. I got them back, and will never move nor refer anyone.

I feel you on the roaches!!!! I just transferred to 2723 building and I am about to go crazy, because in the other building that I was in (2728) did not have roaches, but I needed a two bedroom. I washed a load of my daughters clothes in the buildings laundry room and when I went to put them in the dryer it was roaches in the washing machine. Needless to say I took them to the laundry mat to dry them. I am seriously thinking of moving before my lease is up! Not used to living with roaches and it is driving me crazy!!!!! It is as if they are immune to everything that I am using!

Another thing, rent should not be as high as it is when we don't have @hit. Yeah Gary may be a nice person but he can get ugly as hell too. Don't get it twisted. @uck Malcolm. He is a ----- ----- and does not give a @uck about the tenants. It is hard for everyone but how in the #ell can they raise rent under cover talking about some utility charge. They are straight nickel and diming everyone. The @ucken roaches are so bad you can't even buy food. I have to wrap all my @hit in plastic bags so ROACHES do not get in my clothes. This place needs to burn down and get rebuilt. There is no way to get rid of it over here. One more thing the exterminator is also full of @hit. He has every #ucken excuse in the book other than the aprtment being nasty. He know his #hit don't work. In a minute these roaches are going to be ammuned to raid. If everyone can get together maybe there is something that can be done. I use to think I was the only one complaining. I heard at the courthouse almost everyone there were from these apartments. GET OUT WHEN U CAN! Next time there is an open house there should be a sign that says all pests are welcome. There be all types of #hit coming out from Camel crickets to roaches, spiders and some #hit you ain't never seen before. Please take this seriously. This is unhealthy living.

I am very glad that I read all of these reviews first, because I was seriously considering Doral Terrace for a minute. But I began reading the reviews once I saw how many ads Doral has on Craigslist. They're practically GIVING the apartment away. So, thanks everybody!

To those of you who currently live in Doral Terrace I'm sorry you have to live in that manner. I lived that complex almost 10 years ago and from these reviews it appears NOTHING has changed. The only issue I didn't have a problem with was roaches but everything else under the sun mentioned was an issue. To those of you still living there let me tell you what helped me in dealing with Bernstein Management and you WILL need to follow this in order to avoid them trying to screw you when you move out because they WILL try to. ***1. If you are having issues with your apartment of the Bernstein Management staff file a FORMAL complaint with the State of MD. One thing I can say about MD is they do their job. If you have a problem with your unit under law in MD the landlord only has a certain # of days to fix the issue or be fined DAILY by the state. So it's important you stay in contact with them (the state). Go to www.oag.state.md.us to file a complaint online or call 410-528-8662. Tell them you have a complaint about your landlord and maintenance or any of other issue. A rep will contact you back in 24 hrs I think. ***2. Take pictures of ALL maintenance requests before AND after the work is completed. This way when Bernstein tries to charge you for the work they did you have proof to sue them and they WILL back off. ***3. Don't waste your time calling the Virginia office as Malcolm is just there to tell you off. Put your requests in formal writing to the on-site office. If no response in 24hrs see number 1. ***4. When you get ready to move out take video and/or pictures of how you left the apartment because they WILL say you left it damaged and attempt to keep your security deposit. They tried that with me but my pics shut them up. It was hell living them but I gave them hell right back until I moved. Stay on them by contacting the State of MD because one thing Bernstein hates is fines from the State. Also, if they (Bernstein Mgt) attempt to retaliate against you that is also against the law. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS. They only take advantage of those who don't know their rights in Maryland but Maryland is VERY strict with landlords but they can't help you if you don't report them.
