I have not lived here a month yet and already there is a big problem. Every morning at 4:30am I am awakened by floor boards popping, rubbing together and cracking. I have told Gary, Virginia and have written two letters to Bernstein Management about the problem. I had to call the county inspectors to get maintenance to come and try to fix the problem. Yes, they tried but to no avail. In essence, the rental personnel told me that that was one of the problems tenants have to deal with when choosing a second floor apartment. I have lived in other places with tenants above me and I did not experience that problem. I am having to fight to get something done, and to this day I am not sure it can be resolved. I asked to move to a 3rd floor unit and was told that that would be a fee of 500 dollars. I regret that I am now in a place that want money more than wanting to make their tenants comfortable.

I am so sorry to hear that. I had to post my horrors stories about Doral Terrace on here so that others would not get trapped. The list gets longer and longer. Recently, that have taken me to court stating that I owe them $500! They are charging me $150 because they say they didn't exterminate my apartment...BS! I was the one who let them in. Gary was in the hallway escorting them and he was the one who knocked on my door. I let them in they sprayed and left. They also, came back in a second time to look in my bathroom??? The other $350 is from a money order I sent them a month ago. They claim that they never got it and Malcolm had the gall to suggest that I borrow the money from someone and pay them back once my refund comes from Western Union. Apparently this isn't a rare occurence either because the gentleman ahead of me in line at the courthouse also had the same issue. I am not paying Doral Terrace twice nor am I going to pay a fee for something that they did and claimed that they didn't. When I have neighbors above my head I have the same issue with noise. It always sounds like my neighbors are up 24-7! I am counting the days, my lease is up in June!

Thank you so much for your response. I am happy for you. June is not that far away. I have to go until March 2010. The more it's reported, the wiser the prospective tenants will be to avoid this trap. Thanks and good luck to you.
