Hell On Earth!

I have been living at Regency Pointe for only seven months and it has to be the worst mistake I have ever made as long as I have been living! When I first moved in, my apartment was ok. New paint, new carpet, new bathroom equipment, new window screens, new kitchen, etc.... Well, three weeks after I moved in, things seemed not so new anymore. The paint began to chip in the living room, bathroom, and my room. The carpet somehow came up and the rental office "couldn't figure out why", or come fix it. Which then bought along mice and bugs everywhere. The bath tub began to peel, the tiles began to fall off the wall, the ceiling has been repainted six times and mold just grows right on through it. There are yellow spots growing on the ceiling as well and it's the nastiest things I've ever seen. The toilet wouldn't flush, the light bulbs didn't work, the door wouldn't close, and the sink fell off the wall! My window screen came out, the kitchen, which I later found had a whole in it, had mice crawling through! The ceiling in my bedroom literally caved in last winter when it snowed, and it wasn't fixed for THREE WEEKS! They put plastic over it and when they did come to "fix it", two days later, it rained and the roof caved in again! My front door was unlocked one day when I got home. Not only was it unlocked, it was sitting open. It had not been robbed, but apparently, a maintainence person had come into my home and left the door ajar! I was livid. Someone could have stolen my items. That was it. I have had it with this property. My rent has been in escrow for two months now. I will not sign for it to be released. There are children running around everywhere, all over, as young as three yrs. with no parent watching. It is literally ridiculous around there.
Another FYI: I am extremely clean. I am barely even home, normally working and going to school. But I have mice and roaches. I didn't waste much time with calling the rental office and wait for them to provide extermination to my place (WHICH THEY PROMISED TO DO ON MY FIRST COMPLAINT TO THEM, AND NEVER DID GET THE EXTERMINATOR TO COME). I paid money out of my OWN pocket to have the apartment exterminated bi-monthly. To this day, I still have seen roaches, and my apartment have been exterminated three times since living there!

have you called the health department or thought of having your rent put in escrow. i tried the health department and i was able to get some results... the property is presently in bankrupt status and the new management company does not own the property but they claim they guarantee work in 48 hours

I have had a guy from the health department come to my home on more than one occasion. My rent is currently in escrow and I have taken off work numerous times to go to court with these apartments. It's horrible. My lease is over in August and I'm overjoyed to be moving from there. The new management is ok. But it's going to be LOTS of work to clean up all the mess that Crystal, Ebony, Tracy, and the rest of the trifling "helpful" ex-crew made!
