Surrey Square

This place is crazy along with the management. The mgmt changes every three months b/c no one wants to manage it b/c it is a hot mess already. Don't even get your hopes up if you want something fixed in your apartment, b/c it is not going to happen. Then they have the nerve to charge you for fixing it when you move out.
Maintenance. What maintenance''' You have to wait weeks to get your HVAC worked on or anything fixed and half the time they don't fix it right so you have to call again and wait even longer to get it fix.
The apartments are old. It would be safe to say that they haven't updated those apartments since they were built back in the 50's. The floorboards are so squeaky and loose that I am surprised no one has fallen through.
The HVAC units are outdated and half-azz work.
The bathrooms. OMG the tile, tub, sink and cabinets all need to be replaced.
The cheap blinds. The blinds keep coming off track and falling off.
Walk through''' No point of doing a walk through b/c they aren't going to fix what's wrong and are going to charge you for it when you move out.
Other tenants. Can we say ghetto, drug dealing, Be'Be' kids having, crazy, disrespectful, thugs. (Among other things I shall not mention.) I would not feel safe having a cat there let alone a child.
Lerner Corporation, The owners!!! Can we say slum lords!!! It baffles me that they have all this money to buy the Washington Nationals but don't have any money to invest in their apartment communities. Now my thinking is the reason they don't invest in their apt communities is b/c they rent primarily to black and hispanic people and figure "I could care less how they live just as long as I get a check first of the month." Now I could be wrong but I am sure everyone who has ever lived there or lives there now will agree with me. They have the absolute gall to raise rent prices but do absolutly nothing with the apts. Again it is a racial thing. There is barely any diversity among its board members and among senior mgmt. They probably just have their "status quo" minorities. (aka: White Females)
Surrey Square has the potential to be a great apartment complex. The apartments are spacious, but they have to get rid of the negative element currently living there. Hire a more effective and efficient maintenance/front office/management staff. Renovate all of the apartments and bring them up to current code standards. And finally be keen and selective on who they rent to. If you rent to someone who doesn't care about themself or others then you have no one to blame when they trash your apartment and leave without paying!!!

Thank you, Rip Off! You must have moved in after I moved out... I thought I was the only educated person living a Surrey Square. It's like they have a criteria that you have to smoke marijjuana, sell your body, or be some other type of thug to live there! Fyi... the management was in cahoots with the towing company. My car was towed despite having my tag showing I lived there... and I had to pay $150 to get my car back because the towing company said, "oops, we didn't see it!"
