Not Worth It

It?s Not Worth It!

The apartments are spacious. However, the construction and fixtures in the apartment need replacing or upgraded. The electrical outlets are loose. The kitchen sink fixtures tend to leak. Pipes under the sink require constant maintenance because they leak. The maintenance staff will not replace the plumbing, they just plug up the leaks. The plumbing in the kitchen area is unstable and also causes the washermachine to leak.

The walls and ceilings are paper thin. You can hear the other occupants above and beside you. As well as, they can hear you.

You can call in a maintenance ticket on Monday and won?t get serviced until they feel like coming. I have waited almost a month before maintenance was able to fix my problem. I have to call constantly, every day to get someone to come to fix my problems within a week.

The outside lighting is poor. Some of the building are located by woods. The shrubs are high and can cover most of the terrace level apartments. Because of the nearby woods and trees, the lighting near the parking lot is minimal. The lighting in the hallway has been known to go out and not replaced until someone calls the property manager. The property manager doesn?t walk the grounds of the property until she receives several complaints regarding the loitering, trash, and vandalism.

Threatening notices are taped in plain view of other occupants regarding no payment of rent, instead of folded and placed under the door or against the door knob. This causes the appearance of the building to look trashy.

Although a parking permit is required and the rental office says ?We strongly enforce towing?, there is no towing. There are abandoned cars taking up parking spaces, cars with out of state tags or expired tags taking up the parking spaces.

Other tenants are disrespectful. They play loud music and have parties without thinking of the other tenants. The rental office usually address these issues by placing notices on the bulletin board in the rental office. Even if you complain enuf, the rental office takes no action. They constantly give warnings, but this does not stop the problem.

The pool is not cleaned on a regular basis and a lifeguard is not always present. The maintenance staff are lazy and always trying to ?get-to-know? the female tenants of the building. They enter your apartment without notice and will not leave a note saying why they were there. Notices have been placed about the fire marshall checking the smoke detectors on certain days but you have know idea if they checked it or not because there is no notification.

A new property manager comes on board at least every 60 days. She works well for the first month then things go back to normal after that. They are always losing your paper work. They don?t give out maintenance ticket numbers to keep a records of the maintenance done in your apartment. I put in my 30 day notice as required and they couldn?t find my paperwork. They wanted to charge me an extra month. Luckily, I keep copies of my paperwork.

If you have to move here, be prepared to deal with a lot of MESS!
