Bad Move...literally

I just moved in a few weeks ago and am rethinking my move. My apartment walls are so thin I hear everything that goes on beside me and above me. I called the office and reported the problem and was told that there was nothing they could do about it! I feel like once I signed that lease I was nothing but a rent check to them every month! I asked why I was not at the very least told up front about the noise problem' I was told by the manager that it's apartment living and there
was nothing he could do as no laws were broken. I pay nearly $1300 per mo for a 2 bedroom it seems there is something that could be done. I thought by paying a substantial amount more per mo would mean a nicer and more quiet apartment. That is just not so at these apartments.
