My wife, dog, and newborn baby moved in here 2 weeks ago (in beginning of December). It is a very nice neighborhood, excellent floor plans, very spacious. We live on the top floor, on the corner, with cathedral vaulted ceilings, and pay nothing extra for the "view" or ceilings etc.

The rooms are very large, ample closet space, beautiful kitchen with nice wood cabinets and lots of counter space. Secure - with punch code to get in building. Was originally built to be a condo community, but the company sold to apartment property company. Community is well manicured, well situated near shopping and 270, and is quiet and well lit. Community has a small dog park (very small - but there is a HUGE field nearby), and a place to wash/vacuum your car.

Negatives: Pet deposit PLUS pet rent, no storage unit (unit on balcony is locked, and for water heater/furnace...so its a give-and-take - at least that isn't inside in a closet)

Just wait you haven't been there long enough. Howver, I heard there is new management, if so you might be in luck. They change management every few months so don't get use to any one person. Keep you eyes open and be alert to what goes on around you. Things are quiet now because of winter just wait untill summer. As for the codes on the buildings, there are kids and tenants that you give there friends the codes. So its somewhat self and somewhat not.

yeah check the door when you first walk up, chances are its not closed all the way and will not lock. recently a guy got shot by the cops outside the complex and i heard there was drug distribution activity once. but i've talked to my friends who are cops and they say this is one of the better neighborhoods in Frederick. i can't stand the kids that play out in front of the leasing office, it would be nice if there were an area for some of the older kids like a skate park or something.

APPARENTLY you are new to the neighborhood. You will have a lot to learn in this place. The only reason you got a great deal on the place is because the economy took a dump; if you moved in a year ago or even 6 months ago, you would be paying $$$ and definitely paid more for top floor. So take it that you got a bargain. Maybe this place will get better now that the idiot manager is gone, but take it for what its worth. I for one am glad to be out of this complex! Enjoy the HUGE field while its good, its going to be turned into a shopping complex in the next couple of years. All in all, deem yourself lucky that you didnt have to deal with the last 2 managers and some of the idiots that worked here, like most of us have had to
