Not As Bad As It Seems To Others

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2006
I lived in Brookside for close to three years [2003-2006] and it was not a bad experiance at all.
PROS:
There is a lot of room for everything you need. The balcony could have been a little longer but it worked for a few people to stand on and talk.
There was always more than enough parking. We always had our choice of many parking spaces right in front of our building for the two cars we own.
People were very nice.
The pools weren't anything special but they were fun and the lifguards did their jobs unlike some apartment pools I've been to.
Perfect distance the everything. Stores are right up the road, in [if you are willing to] walking distance to High school and middle school.
Landscaping and maintenance worked monthly so everything looked nice. If anything was out of sorts it was usually the tenants faults, which were always fixed in the next few weeks.
Pets were aloud, WITHOUT THEM HAVING TO BE SPAYED/NEUTURED OR A WEIGHT LIMIT, which was very good for us as we have alot of pets.
CONS:
Rent was a little much for what you got, but not uncommon in the Frederick area.
The noise that there was did occur at any hour. We were surrounded by people who did not speak english [not that I am against that -- it's just facts] and they laughed and screamed as they walked into their apartment at 2AM, but once inside the noise was never bad. When they played their radios it was noticeable if TOO loud but never a floor shaking issue. We did once have to call for a neighbor below us stuck in a domestic abuse case and we called the police who showed up fast, so I'm not sure how the management would have handled that if we had called.
The management was kind of vacant. We never really needed them, in fact nothing ever broke in our apartment surprisingly.
There were random crack in the walls and the floor seemed to be seperating from the wall in some places but never a huge issue, just an average apartment thing I suppose.
People really did need to learn to clean up after their animals though.
All in all I really enjoyed living here. You can't afford to be picky living in an apartment where things are run by other people :)
Sure there are much nicer areas to live in but I think it was perfect for most familys.
