After an apartment search that's lasted nearly two months, I decided to try Frederick because the rents are more attractive than where I currently live (Germantown). I wrote an email to Camden Clearbrook's leasing office last night and got a very welcoming email back with floor plans and directions, plus a good verdict on my 75 lb Labrador mix (they're pet-friendly).
The leasing office was very busy today, but Keisha and Heidi were never too busy to be very pleasant and professional with everyone who came in, prospective renters as well as residents.
After looking at a really impressive 2BR/2BA model, with built-in bookcases, brand-new appliances, crown molding, W/D inside, and other features, I took a tour of the fitness center, the clubhouse and pool, and was given a key to look at an as-yet unrented unit that overlooks woods and a lake, as well as having a great Southern view of the Monocacy River/battlefield area.
Well, that was it for me. I loved it. Just the right combination of space I need, style I was looking for, great amenities and a location that -- while not "perfect" for my Rockville commute -- is really very nicely situated and attractive.
I signed up, and took advantage of reduced rent for the first month. I wouldn't have wanted to move if my current landlord wasn't selling the townhome I live in now, but as the old saying goes, as one door closes, another opens.
The only comment I have is that a longer-term lease option (2 years) would be an improvement. And that is my *only* comment. I'm looking forward to living there.
