Frederick Heights Apartments

It WAS nice before 2008! From: dawnmarei0817 Date posted: 6/8/2008 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2008   When my family moved in this was a nice apartment complex with a great staff. They changed hands around 2008 and changed the name to Westwinds. It sounds nicer but it was much safer as Frederick Heights! The former excellent staff was replaced with 'guests in our country' none of which spoke English very well. So when ever we needed something done we'd be asked to put it in writing which we seldom had time for. Also, we have absolutely nothing to show for the hike in the rent increase because the apartment has become the ghetto. All of my husbands car windows were smashed recently, my neighbor had two break in attempts, the man upstairs was broken into and robbed and tonight there was a stabbing in the apartment that fights 24/7. My family will be moving in a few weeks as we no longer feel safe and for what we pay for rent it's not too much to ask. They need a few night watchmen. Too many bored kids make it impossible to sleep due to their noise and the fact they're vandalizing cars. Safety isn't the only issue. The windows and doors are very drafty in the winter. It's not unusual to find ice inside your window. With the moisture comes a lot of mold and mildew. Right after I brought my newborn son home they sprayed for insects and we then developed a horrible flea problem. It last from July to October. The garbage truck comes at about 5am to empty the dumpster so forget sleeping in. If you have a ground floor apartment they like to mow the grass right in front of the windows at the crack of dawn also. People don't clean up after their dogs so I can never let my kids play in the grass. I swear the drinking water is directly from the swimming pool.
